Sum of Pseudoproducts (SPPs) are three-level network structures that give a good compromise between compact representation and small depth of the resulting circuit. In this paper the testability of circuits derived from SPPs is studied. For SPPs several restricted forms can be considered. While full testability can be proved for some classes, others are shown to contain redundancies. Experiment...

The wave-particle alpha-channeling effect is generalized to include rotating plasma. Specifically, radio frequency waves can resonate with alpha particles in a mirror machine with ExB rotation to diffuse the alpha particles along constrained paths in phase space. Of major interest is that the alpha-particle energy, in addition to amplifying the rf waves, can directly enhance the rotation energy...

Weyl fermions are massless chiral particles first predicted in 1929 and once thought to describe neutrinos. Although never observed as elementary particles, quasiparticles with Weyl dispersion have recently been experimentally discovered in solid-state systems causing a furore in the research community. Systems with Weyl excitations can display a plethora of fascinating phenomena and offer grea...

We examine the decay of the 3.03 MeV state of (8)Be evaporated from an excited projectilelike fragment following a peripheral heavy-ion collision. The relative energy of the daughter alpha particles exhibits a dependence on the decay angle of the (8)Be(*), indicative of a tidal effect. A comparison of the measured tidal effect with a model suggests a measurable nuclear proximity interaction.

We construct a strongly minimal set which is not a finite cover of one with DMP. We also prove that for a strongly minimal theory T generic automorphisms exist iff T has DMP, thus proving a conjecture of Kikyo and

Doubly excited states of atoms and ions in which two electrons are excited from the ground configuration display strong radial and angular electron correlations. They are prototypical examples of quantum-mechanical systems with strong coupling. Two distinguishing characteristics of these states are: (i) their organization into successive families, with only weak coupling between families, and (...

In this paper we review the experimental and observational searches for stable, massive, elementary particles other than the electron and proton. The particles may be neutral, may have unit charge or may have fractional charge. They may interact through the strong, electromagnetic, weak or gravitational forces or through some unknown force. The purpose of this review is to provide a guide for f...

An equilateral-triangular shape of three alpha clusters surrounded by excess neutrons is suggested for 14C, based on the molecular-orbit model. It is found that the attractive interaction between an excess neutron and an alpha particle stabilizes the K(pi)=0(+) and 3(-) rotational bands, which demonstrates an equilateral-triangular symmetry. This K(pi)=3(-) band at 3 MeV below the 10Be+alpha th...
