Introduction In marine ecosystems, microbial communities are important drivers of material circulation and energy flow. The complex interactions between phytoplankton bacterial constitute one the most crucial ecological relationships in environment. Inorganic nitrogen can affect type relationship algae bacteria. However, quantitative communities, inorganic nitrogen, remains unclear. Methods Und...

To examine the effect of crop growth enhancer bacteria on quantitative and qualitative yield of safflower, an experiment in randomized complete block design was conducted in eight levels with four replications. Bacterial factor consisted of control (absence of bacteria), AzotobacterChroococcum,AzospirillumBrazilians, Pseudomonas Fluorescens, AzotobacterChroococcum+Azospirillum Brazilians, Azoto...

Multicellular organisms live in environments containing diverse nutrients and a wide variety of microbial communities. On the one hand, immune response can protect from intrusion exogenous microorganisms. other dynamic coordination anabolism catabolism is necessary factor for growth reproduction. Since production an energy-intensive process, activation cells accompanied by metabolic transformat...

A small coryneform bacterium was consistently isolated from sugarcane with ratoon stunting disease and shown to be the causal agent. A similar bacterium was isolated from Bermuda grass. Both strains multiplied in sugarcane and Bermuda grass, but the Bermuda grass strain did not incite the symptoms of ratoon stunting disease in sugarcane. Shoot growth in Bermuda grass was retarded by both strains.

A new purple bacterium (strain T4), capable of heterotrophic aerobic and phototrophic anaerobic growth, was isolated from waste water of a noodle factory near Hanoi, Vietnam. A comparison of 16S rDNA sequences revealed its association with the genus Rhodocista. The isolate, tentatively named "Rhodocista hanoiensis", forms cysts after growth on butyrate-containing plates at 42 degrees C. The veg...

The methods employed for the quantitative isolation of stool bacteria in man have not been standardized. Schaedler, Dubos, and Costello have outlined in detail their methods for isolation of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in specimens obtained from mice.' However, in vitro growth factors for the isolation of the bacterial flora of mice are not applicable at all times to man. While undertaking a...

A thermophilic Methanosarcina strain was isolated from a digester fed with water hyacinths and inoculated with ground termites from the Congo. Optimal growth temperature was 55 degrees C. Methane production was at its optimum between pH 6.5 and 7.0. The bacterium grew on acetate, methanol and methylamines in the absence of growth factors, but could not use H2-CO2 or formate. H2-CO2 inhibited ac...

Staphylococcus aureus produced an inhibitory factor that suppressed slime formation by Psuudomonas aeruginosa but had little effect on the growth of the organism. The inhibitory factor was not found in broth cultures but could be extracted from cultures grown on solid agar. The inhibitory factor moderately inhibited gram-negative bacteria in addition to inhibiting a variety of gram-positive bac...

In a previous paper (Lewandowski and Stahly, 1944) it was shown that the growth rate of a group C hemolytic streptococcus, adapted to artificial media, became constant after a number of subcultures in an apparently favorable medium. It is the purpose of this paper to give a description of the materials and methods used and to present the growth rates of a group of strains maintained by passage ...

Recently, bioMérieux, France, introduced the Rapidec Carba NP test kit for rapid detection of carbapenemase-producing Gram-negative bacteria. This kit was evaluated in this study, and we report sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values of 92.6%, 96.2%, 95.83%, and 92.6%, respectively. The test was easy to perform and interpret and relatively inexpensive ($5/Rs 300 pe...
