We introduce a suitable concept of weak evolution in the context of the radial quintic focussing semilinear wave equation on R3`1, that is adapted to continuation past type II singularities. We show that the weak extension leads to type I singularity formation for initial data corresponding to: (i) the Kenig-Merle blow-up solutions with initial energy below the ground state and (ii) the Krieger...

Nuclei exhibit quantum phase transitions (earlier called ground state phase transitions) between different shapes as the number of nucleons is modified, resulting in changes in the ground and low lying nuclear states. Special solutions of the Bohr Hamiltonian appropriate for the critical point of such shape phase transitions, as well as other special solutions applicable to relevant nuclear reg...

The Jordan-Wigner transformation is applied to study the ground state properties and dimerization transition in the J1 −J2 XXZ chain. We consider different solutions of the mean-field approximation for the transformed Hamiltonian. Ground state energy and the static structure factor are compared with complementary exact diagonalization and good agreement is found near the limit of the Majumdar-G...

Experiments indicate that the ground state of graphene in a strong magnetic field exhibits spontaneous breaking of SU(4) symmetry. However, the nature of the corresponding emergent state is unclear because existing theoretical methods approximate the broken-symmetry solutions, yielding nearly-degenerate candidate ground states having different emergent orders. Resolving this ambiguity in the na...

Addition of β-Cyclodextrin to aqueous solutions of rhodamine B base results in the deaggregation of the dye to its monomer form. This is due to the association of monomeric rhodamine B base to the cyclodextrin. The absorption and emission spectra of the aqueous dye solution have been described. This has also been proved by UV-Vis, FTIR and Scanning Eelectron Microscope (SEM). Ground state (Kg) ...

In this paper orbital stability of solutions of weakly coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations is studied. It is proved that ground state solutions-scalar or vector ones-are orbitally stable, while bound states with Morse index strictly greater than one are not stable. Moreover, an instability result for large exponent in the nonlinearity is presented.

We perform Hartree-Fock+BCS calculations for even-even nuclei with 2 ≤ Z ≤ 82 and N ranging from outside the proton drip line to the experimental frontier on the neutron-rich side. The ground state solutions are obtained for 737 nuclei, together with shape-coexistence solutions for 480 nuclei. Our method features the Cartesian-mesh representation of single-particle wavefunctions, which is advan...

We consider the coupled Einstein-Dirac-Maxwell equations for a static, spherically symmetric system of two fermions in a singlet spinor state. Soliton-like solutions are constructed numerically. The stability and the properties of the ground state solutions are discussed for different values of the electromagnetic coupling constant. We find solutions even when the electromagnetic coupling is so...

in this research, structural and electronic properties of zncdn-1ten clusters (n=1-10) have been studied by formalism of density functional theory and using the projector augmented wave within local density approximation. the structural properties (such as bond length/angle and coordination number), electronic and optical properties (such as binding energy, kohn-sham spectrum and partial charge...

The tensor-RPA approach developed previously in part I is applied to the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model. As a first step we investigate the structure of Dirac-Hartree-Fock solutions for a rotationally and isospin invariant ground-state density. Whereas vacuum properties can be reproduced, no soli-tonic configuration for a system with unit baryon number is found. We then solve the tensor-RPA equ...
