A systems approach model for prostate cancer in prostate duct, as a sub-system of the organism is developed. It is accomplished in two steps. First this research work starts with a nonlinear system of coupled Fokker-Plank equations which models continuous process of the system like motion of cells. Then extended to PDEs that include discontinuous processes like cell mutations, proliferation and...

A signature feature of cortical spike trains is their trial-to-trial variability. This variability is large in the spontaneous state and is reduced when cortex is driven by a stimulus or task. Models of recurrent cortical networks with unstructured, yet balanced, excitation and inhibition generate variability consistent with evoked conditions. However, these models produce spike trains which la...

In this paper, we establish the global fast dynamics for the time-dependent Ginzburg}Landau equations of superconductivity. We show the squeezing property and the existence of "nite-dimensional exponential attractors for the system. In addition we prove the existence of the global attractor in ̧2] ̧2 for the Ginzburg}Landau equations in two spatial dimensions. Copyright ( 1999 John Wiley & Sons, ...

In this paper we consider a three-dimensional planetary geostrophic viscous model of the gyre-scale mid-latitude ocean. We show the global existence and uniqueness of the weak and strong solutions to this model. Moreover, we establish the existence of a finite-dimensional global attractor to this dissipative evolution system. c © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

This paper is concerned with the long time behavior of solution for the equation derived by the Trojan Y Chromosome (TYC) model with spatial spread. Based on the regularity estimates for the semigroups and the classical existence theorem of global attractors, we prove that this equations possesses a global attractor in H (Ω) (k ≥ 0) space.

In this paper we study an initial boundary value problem for a generalized complex Ginzburg–Landau equation with two spatial variables (2D). Applying the notion of the ε-regular map we show the unique existence of global solutions for initial data with low regularity and the existence of the global attractor.

This paper is concerned with the dynamics for nonlinear one-dimensional beam equations. We consider a nonlinear beam equation with viscosity or with a lower order damping term instead of the viscosity, and we establish the existence of global attractors for both systems. In this paper, we study the long-time dynamical behavior for the extensible suspension bridge equations with past history. We prove the existence of the global attractors by using the contraction function method. Furthermore, the regularity of global attractor is achieved.

In this work we derive lower bounds for the Hausdorff and fractal dimensions of the global attractor of the Sabra shell model of turbulence in different regimes of parameters. We show that for a particular choice of the forcing term and for sufficiently small viscosity term ν, the Sabra shell model has a global attractor of large Hausdorff and fractal dimensions proportional to logν−1 for all v...

We prove that the weakly damped nonlinear Schrödinger flow in L 2 (R) provides a dynamical system which possesses a global attractor. The proof relies on the continuity of the Schrödinger flow for the weak topology in L 2 (R).
