We describe asymmetric intramolecular Friedel-Crafts alkylations with a DNA-based hybrid catalyst and propose a plausible binding model. This study shows promise for studying relationships between the helical chirality of DNA and enantioselectivity of the chemical reaction.

At present, during the period of complex socio-economic transformations in Republic Kazakhstan, scientific and pedagogical searches are increasingly being conducted to form spiritual moral qualities students by strengthening ethno-cultural heritage people. This allows you fully understand realize values culture Kazakh It originates from basics arts crafts. The situation with coronavirus has str...

Water-miscible organic co-solvents can be used in DNA-based catalytic asymmetric reactions at appreciable concentration without a negative effect on enantioselectivity. While the rate of the copper(II) Diels-Alder reaction is affected negatively by the presence of organic co-solvents, the copper(II) catalyzed Michael addition and Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction are significantly faster. Addi...

In this paper we describe an interface for searching and conceptualizing related information. We describe a specific application of this interface for searching traditional artists in the state of Indiana. The interface employs multi-modal interaction by allowing the user to search for artists using a map of the state of Indiana alongside a conceptual hierarchical map of crafts and sub-crafts. ...

The Journal of STEM Arts, Crafts, and Constructions is an ideal venue for disseminating new ideas, lessons, and research developed in response to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This editorial explains how arts integration is well-suited to addressing the Science and Engineering Practices and the Cross-cutting Concepts. The research articles in this issue provide evidence that art...

The most widely known electrophilic agents are protic acids and compounds with an electronsextet partial structure. Recent research has aimed at the development of new electrophilic reagents, with greater reactivity on the one hand and higher selectivity on the other, which would largely obviate the addition of Lewis acids (Friedel-Crafts catalysts), and also alIow control of the isomer ratio i...

The goal of this study is to distill from a large body of literature on children learning crafts, such as pottery and weaving, the characteristics of apprenticeship as a distinct phenomenon. Currently apprenticeship is considered indistinguishable from other, more informal, means of skill transmission. From the literature survey, eleven attributes are identified as belonging to the archetypal a...

The concise and efficient total synthesis of (+)-bionectins A and C is described. Our approach to these natural products features a new and scalable method for erythro-β-hydroxytryptophan amino acid synthesis, an intramolecular Friedel-Crafts reaction of a silyl-tethered indole, and a new mercaptan reagent for epipolythiodiketopiperazine (ETP) synthesis that can be unravelled under very mild co...

Introduction In a previous paper [2] we described that Friedel-Crafts phenylation of the ringsystems (NPCl2)3-n(NSOCl)w (n = 1, 2) leads to a reaction at the sulphur atoms. Efforts to substitute a phosphorus-bonded chlorine atom failed however, even in the presence of an excess of A1C13. It has been demonstrated in phosphazene chemistry [3-6] that a PClAm group (Am = amino) is more reactive tow...
