In order to detect ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays (UHECR), atmospheric fluorescence light from the trajectory of the extensive air shower may be measured by mirrorphotosensor systems. In this type of experiment the photon yield from electrons exciting air of various densities and temperatures is most fundamental information for estimating the primary energy of UHECR. An experiment has been undert...

The Yakutsk Extensive Air Shower Array has been continuously operating for more than 50 years (since 1970) and up until recently it one of world's largest ground-based instruments aimed at studying the properties cosmic rays in ultra-high energy domain. In this report we discuss results obtained array - on spectrum, mass composition directional anisotropy how they fit into world data. Special a...

The device downscaling of electronic components has given rise to the need consider specific failures in onboard airplane electronics. Single Event Effects (SEE) are a kind that occur due radiation atmosphere. For purpose ensuring reliability, there is clear for new tools predict SEE rate, at both avionic altitudes and ground level. In this work, we develop tool: RAMSEES (Radiation Atmospheric ...

We discuss the possibilities of measuring ultra-high energy cosmic rays and neutrinos with radio techniques. We review a few of the properties of radio emission from cosmic ray air showers and show how these properties can be explained by coherent “geosynchrotron” emission from electron-positron pairs in the shower as they move through the geomagnetic field. This should allow one to use the rad...

We present here a comparison of interaction models commonly used for simulating cosmic ray shower development in the atmosphere at energies greater than 1 TeV. The implementations of these models in CORSIKA and the FLUKA transport and interaction code are relevant for extensive air shower experiments, neutrino telescopes, and gamma-ray surfacebased detectors. We compare the pion, kaon, charmed ...

1 Abstract KASCADE-Grande is a new extensive air shower experiment co-located to the KASCADE site at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe. The multi-detector system allows to investigate the energy spectrum, composition , and anisotropies of cosmic rays with unprecedented prevision in the energy range from 10 14-10 18 eV. The primary goals besides investigating the origin of the knee at E ≃ 3 · 10 15 eV...

We present the results of an analysis of the large-scale anisotropy of cosmic rays in the PeV range. The Rayleigh formalism is applied to the right ascension distribution of extensive air showers measured by the KASCADE (Karlsruhe Shower Core and Array Detector) experiment. The data set contains about 108 extensive air showers in the energy range 0.7–6 PeV. No hints of anisotropy are visible in...
