The application of collocation methods using spline basis functions to solve differential model equations has been in use for a few decades. However, the application of spline collocation to the solution of the nonlinear, coupled, partial differential equations (in primitive variables) that define the motion of fluids has only recently received much attention. The issues that affect the effecti...

The aim of this talk is to present highly stable collocation based numerical methods for Volterra Integral Equations (VIEs). As it is well known, a collocation method is based on the idea of approximating the exact solution of a given integral equation with a suitable function belonging to a chosen finite dimensional space, usually a piecewise algebraic polynomial, which satisfies the integral ...

This report evaluates the impact of using a novel collocation segmentation method for phrase extraction in the standard phrase-based statistical machine translation approach. The collocation segmentation technique is implemented simultaneously in the source and target side. The resulting collocation segmentation is used to extract translation units. Experiments are reported in the Spanish-toEng...

In this paper, we derive error estimates for generalized interpolation, in particular collocation, in Sobolev spaces. We employ our estimates to collocation problems using radial basis functions and extend and improve previously known results for elliptic problems. Finally, we use meshless collocation to approximate Lyapunov functions for dynamical systems.

In this paper we give a complete analysis of the global convergence and local superconvergence properties of piecewise polynomial collocation for Volterra integral equations with constant delay. This analysis includes continuous collocation-based Volterra-Runge-Kutta methods as well as iterated collocation methods and their discretizations.

An impressive amount of work was devoted over the past few decades to collocation extraction. The state of the art shows that there is a sustained interest in the morphosyntactic preprocessing of texts in order to better identify candidate expressions; however, the treatment performed is, in most cases, limited (lemmatization, POS-tagging, or shallow parsing). This article presents a collocatio...

This document describes an implemented system of collocation extraction which is designed as aid to translation and which will be used in a real translation environment. Its main functionalities are: retrieving multi-word collocations from an existing corpus of documents in a given language (only French and English are supported for the time being); visualizing the list of extracted terms and t...

Natural languages are full of collocations, recurrent combinations of words that co-occur more often than expected by chance and that correspond to arbitrary word usages. Recent work in lexicography indicates that collocations are pervasive in English; apparently, they are common in all types of writing, including both technical and nontechnical genres. Several approaches have been proposed to ...

in this paper, we will present a review of the multistep collocation method for delay volterra integral equations (dvies) from [1] and then, we study the superconvergence analysis of the multistep collocation method for dvies. some numerical examples are given to confirm our theoretical results.

In this work we present numerical methods for the solution of Fredholm integral equations of the second type for smooth and piecewise smooth surfaces We use a collocation method based on piecewise polynomial interpolation of the solution We consider only collocation methods for which the collocation nodes are interior to each triangular face In Chapter II we give the general framework for collo...
