Biological maintenance of cells under variable conditions should affect gene expression of only certain genes while leaving the rest unchanged. The latter, termed "housekeeping genes," by definition must reflect no change in their expression levels during cell development, treatment, or disease state anomalies. However, deviations from this rule have been observed. Using DNA microarray technolo...
We compared the single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in humans in 182 housekeeping and 148 tissue-specific genes. SNPs were divided into rare and common polymorphisms based on their frequencies. We found that housekeeping genes tend to be less polymorphic than tissue-specific genes for both rare and common SNPs. Using mouse as a second species for computing sequence divergences, we found no e...
abstract introduction: hospital is one of the most important parts of a health- providing network which requiring an experienced and efficacious managing system thus a weak managing system would result in increase in expenses, loss of economic sources, and decrease in optimal usage. therefore current study has performed to evaluate the association between leadership styles of managers and ...
Background & Objectives : Idnetifying causes of occupational accidents is a key issue to prevent these accidents. The present study aimed to identify and analyze debilitating accidents in the construction industry during a two-year period ( 2010 - 2011 years) . Methods: This was an analytical cross-sectional study. The study data included information about all debilitating accid...
Smart home technology (SHT) is becoming more widespread, implemented to enhance convenience as well energy flexibility and efficiency. heating, lighting, security entertainment systems are affecting social practices the use of in different ways. This paper explores differences competences, meanings forms knowledge involved performance (gendered) household based on two Danish qualitative studies...
Detection bias in microarray and sequencing transcriptomic analysis identified by housekeeping genes
This work includes the original data used to discover the gene ontology bias in transcriptomic analysis conducted by microarray and high throughput sequencing (Zhang et al., 2015) [1]. In the analysis, housekeeping genes were used to examine the differential detection ability by microarray and sequencing because these genes are probably the most reliably detected. The genes included here were c...
We report the complete genome sequence of Mycoplasma ovis strain Michigan. Its single circular chromosome has 702,511 bp and contains 2 copies of the 16S rRNA gene, one corresponding to M. ovis and the other to "Candidatus Mycoplasma haemovis." All housekeeping genes and the 5S-23S rRNA genes are present in single copies.
Quantitative gene expression analysis is widely used to evaluate the expression of specific tissue markers. To obtain reliable data it is essential to select stable housekeeping genes whose expression is not influenced by the anatomical origin of cells or by the culture conditions. No studies have evaluated housekeeping gene stability in intervertebral disc (IVD) cells and only few studies usin...
