INTRODUCTION Cardiac syndrome X (CSX) is a clinical entity defined as the triad of typical angina pectoris on exercise, electrocardiographic or metabolic findings of ischemia and normal epicardial coronary arteries. Platelets, whose amount in the blood is indicated with plateletcrit (PCT), play an important role in inflammatory and thrombotic processes and the physiopathology of cardiovascular ...
BACKGROUND Cardiac syndrome X is an important therapeutic and diagnostic challenge to physician. Study of Csx patients may help to understand the pathophysiology of coronary microcirculation and to gain an insight on the management of these group patients. METHODS We measured the flow mediated dilation of the brachial artery both endothelium dependent and independent vasodilatation by high re...
conclusions parents were blood relatives in 33 (33%) of the patient cases, which is a very high rate. therefore, non-random mating is an important issue in developing countries that needs more attention results 100 patients with down syndrome and congenital heart disease were evaluated; 52 were female (52%) and 48 were male (48%). the average birth weight of the subjects was 2745 ± 523 (mean ± ...
BACKGROUND Cardiac syndrome X is defined by a typical angina pectoris with normal or near normal (stenosis <40%) coronary angiogram with or without electrocardiogram (ECG) change or atypical angina pectoris with normal or near normal coronary angiogram plus a positive none-invasive test (exercise tolerance test or myocardial perfusion scan) with or without ECG change. Studies with myocardial pe...
Background : Hemifacial microsomia or Goldenhar syndrome is a congenital abnormality that it's main features are an one-sided under development of ear (or Artesia), jaw and neck. This syndrome is associated with additional anomalies and from view point of phenotype is highly variable. Case Report: The case was a one day old girl born to a 30 years old woman by normal vaginal delivery. Conge...
OBJECTIVE To investigate the central neural contribution to chest pain perception in cardiac syndrome X (angina-like pain, ECG changes during stress, angiographically normal coronary arteriogram). SUBJECTS Eight syndrome X patients and eight healthy volunteers. METHODS Dobutamine stress using echocardiography to assess myocardial function, and positron emission tomography to measure changes...
Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome is a very rare congenital disorder which its principal features are polysyndactyly, chondrodysplasia, cardiac abnormalities and ectodermal dysplasia. We report a 10-year-old girl with major manifestations of this syndrome who also had multiple brownish macules and patches on trunk and extremities with aortic and pulmonary stenosis in echocardiographic evaluations.
