A type of oscillation modeled on BMO is introduced to characterize norm compactness in L 1. This result is used to characterize the bounded linear operators from L 1 into a Banach space X that map weakly convergent sequences onto norm convergent sequences (i.e. are Dunford-Pettis). This characterization is used to study the geometry of Banach spaces X with the property that all bounded linear o...
We characterize compact composition operators on real Banach spaces of complex-valued bounded Lipschitz functions on metric spaces, not necessarily compact, with Lipschitz involutions and determine their spectra.
we characterize compact composition operators on real banach spaces of complex-valued bounded lipschitz functions on metric spaces, not necessarily compact, with lipschitz involutions and determine their spectra.
In this paper, we report the progress of our work on the development of a library on linear operators within the Mizar project. The definitions of concepts including normed linear spaces of bounded linear operators and completeness of such spaces are contained in this library.
In the present paper, we study some properties of fuzzy norm of linear operators. At first the bounded inverse theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces is investigated. Then, we prove Hahn Banach theorem, uniform boundedness theorem and closed graph theorem on fuzzy normed linear spaces. Finally the set of all compact operators on these spaces is studied.
Let H be a complex Hilbert space. Denote by B(H)+ the set of all positive bounded linear operators on H. A bijective map φ : B(H)+ → B(H)+ is said to preserve Lebesgue decompositions in both directions if for any quadruple A,B,C,D of positive operators, B = C +D is an A-Lebesgue decomposition of B if and only if φ(B) = φ(C)+φ(D) is a φ(A)-Lebesgue decomposition of φ(B). It is proved that every ...

We find the largest linear space of bounded linear operators on L1(Ω) that, being restricted to any L1(A), A ⊂ Ω, satisfy the Daugavet equation.
A completely bounded bilinear operator φ: M×M → M on a von Neumann algebra M is said to have a factorization in M if there exist completely bounded linear operators ψj , θj : M → M such that
For a system A = (A1, . . . , An) of linear operators whose real linear combinations have spectra contained in a fixed sector in C and satisfy resolvent bounds there, functions f(A) of the system A of operators can be formed for monogenic functions f having decay at zero and infinity in a corresponding sector in R. In the case that the operators A1, . . . , An commute with each other and satisf...
