We show that a minimal disk satisfying the free boundary condition in a constant curvature ball of any dimension is totally geodesic. We weaken the condition to parallel mean curvature vector in which case we show that the disk lies in a three dimensional constant curvature submanifold and is totally umbilic. These results extend to higher dimensions earlier three dimensional work of J. C. C. N...

In this note we present an immersed boundary (IB) method for restricted diffusion with permeable interfaces. These problems arise under a variety of circumstances, e.g., in thermal contact problems [7]. Diffusion in a medium consisting of two regimes separated by permeable boundaries is another example. It is well-known that cell boundaries in a living tissue are permeable to oxygen and water m...

In this paper we consider the one-parameter family of Bona-Smith systems, which belongs to the class of Boussinesq systems modelling two-way propagation of long waves of small amplitude on the surface of water in a channel. We study three initial-boundary-value problems for these systems, corresponding, respectively, to nonhomogeneous Dirichlet, reflection, and periodic boundary conditions pose...

Since 2001 the IEEE p1581 working group aims to provide a test standard for memories that cannot have boundary scan. Currently this p1581 activity focuses on test access and test circuitry. The latter came to a resolution and will be explained. Economic advantages for the user of p1581 devices and further work will be discussed.

Diophantine criteria occur naturally in the theory of partial differential equations through the notorious problem of small denominators. An extensive treatment of such problems in the theory of PDEs can be found, e.g., in [6]. In this paper, we are interested in a Diophantine problem related to an inhomogeneous wave equation in n spatial and one temporal dimension with periodic boundary condit...
