BACKGROUND: Camel and sheep have high disperse and tolerance in tropical regions. But different results of harsh condition tolerance ability of them have been reported. OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to determine the heat stress tolerance in camel and sheep by evaluating changes in blood serum metabolites and to report and compare the serum biochemical profile of sheep and camel du...

Crude metabolites of 21 of 60 fungal cultures isolated from some of the common cereals collected from different parts of India were found to be toxic. Of these toxin-producing fungi, 79% caused hepatic pathology of varying severity in mice. Serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase values and blood urea nitrogen were found to be high in such experimental animals.

BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to identify molecular alterations in the human blood serum related to bipolar disorder, using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and chemometrics. METHODS Metabolomic profiling, employing 1H-NMR, 1H-NMR T2-edited, and 2D-NMR spectroscopy and chemometrics of human blood serum samples from patients with bipolar disorder (n = 26) compared wit...

BACKGROUND Disturbances in the levels of one-carbon (1C) metabolism metabolites have been associated with a wide variety of neuropsychiatric diseases. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) levels of homocysteine (Hcy) and the other 1C metabolites, nor their interrelatedness and putative determinants, have been studied extensively in a healthy population. METHODS Plasma and CSF samples from 100 individual...

With more than 25 million people affected, heart failure (HF) is a global threat. As energy production pathways are known to play pivotal role in HF, we sought here identify key metabolic changes ischemic- and non-ischemic HF by using multi-OMICS approach. Serum metabolites mRNAseq epigenetic DNA methylation profiles were analyzed from blood left ventricular biopsy specimens of the same individ...

The pharmacokinetic behavior of allixin (3-hydroxy-5-methoxy-6-methyl-2-penthyl-4H-pyran-4-one) was investigated in an experimental animal, mice. Allixin was administered using an inclusion compound because the solubility of allixin in aqueous solution is very low. The allixin content in serum and in the organs of administered animals was analyzed by liquid chromatography (LC)-MS. Most of the a...

Background Phase I and occasionally also phase II metabolites may contribute to the overall effect of a drug. This is not always apparent or revealed, since total concentrations of metabolites may be low in relation to parent drug concentrations. In the case of carvedilol, using a comparison of HPLC and β1-specific radioligand receptor binding assay (RRA), it was possible to demonstrate that re...
