Coronary artery aneurysms are rare anomalies that are usually incidental findings in coronary angiography. We present the case of a 64-year-old male patient with a recent episode of epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting, accompanied by electrocardiographic alterations and positive troponin I. As the symptoms persisted, the patient was referred for coronary angiography, during which a significant...

A 53-year-old woman underwent cardiac catheterization for assessment of coronary arterial disease. An unexpected finding of a gradient between right atrium and right ventricle led to the discovery of an unsuspected right atrial myxoma. The diagnosis was established by the presence of a filling defect in the right atrial angiocardiogram and by the demonstration of "tumour vessels" by selective r...

The incidence of multivessel coronary artery ectasias (CAEs) among patients undergoing coronary artery angiography is very rare. All three coronary vessels can be affected by CAE, but most patients have an isolated arterial ectasia, commonly the right coronary artery. In this report we present two cases with inferior myocardial infarction that was likely caused by thrombotic occlusion of CAEs.

Research focused on the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular disease is progressing rapidly.1 Radiology has always played a central diagnostic role, particularly in the coronary vessels. A technique for selectively catheterizing the coronary arteries was developed in 1959, and conventional x-ray coronary angiography is still considered the gold standard for detecting c...

Total upper body drainage via left superior vena cava into coronary sinus (i.e. absent right superior vena cava) is a rare anomaly and distorts the anatomy of coronary sinus and triangle of Koch. Herewith we are reporting the first report of ablation in a patient with superior vena cava draining into coronary sinus totally. This patient with atrioventricular nodal re-entrant tachycardia, baseli...

spontaneous coronary artery dissection (scad) is a rare and important cause of acute coronary syndrome and sudden cardiac death. various etiologies are thought to be responsible for this condition, among which underlying atherosclerosis seems to be the most common. scad is predominant in women and is usually diagnosed via coronary artery angiography. therapeutic interventions include medical th...

Background:It is well known that collateral circulation has important roles in ischemic heart diseases. The method most commonly used at present to evaluate collateral flow is coronary angiography. However, there are debates about the functional significance of angiographically visible collaterals because angiography visualizes only vessels that are larger than 100um in diameter. Recent studies...
