metabolic alkalosis is characterized by high hco3- as it is seen in chronic respiratory acidosis, but ph differentiates the two disorders. there is no characteristic symptom or sign. orthostatic hypotension may be encountered. weakness and hyporeflexia occur if serum k+ is markerdly low. tetany and neuromuscular irritability occur rarely. we report the results of retrospective data analysis of ...

in this paper we consider a petrovsky viscoelastic inverse source problem with memory term in the boundary condition. we obtain sufficient conditions on relaxation function and initial data for which the solutions of problem are asymptotically stable when the integral overdetermination tends to zero as time goes to infinity.

this note introduces a new general conjecture correlating the dimensionality dt of an infinitelattice with n nodes to the asymptotic value of its wiener index w(n). in the limit of large nthe general asymptotic behavior w(n)≈ns is proposed, where the exponent s and dt are relatedby the conjectured formula s=2+1/dt allowing a new definition of dimensionality dw=(s-2)-1.being related to the topol...

In this paper, we prove new fixed point theorems for generalized asymptotic pointwise ρ−contractions involving orbits in modular spaces.

Based on an asymptotic analysis of the contraction mapping (CM) method of Li and Kedem (IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory, vol. 39, pp. 989–998, 1993), a bandwidth shrinkage rule is proposed for fast and accurate estimation of the frequencies of multiple sinusoids from noisy measurements. The CM frequency estimates are defined as the fixed-points of a contractive mapping formed by the lag-one autocorr...

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relation between the moments and the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Burgers equation. The Burgers equation is a special nonlinear problem that turns into a linear one after the Cole-Hopf transformation. Our asymptotic analysis depends on this transformation. In this paper an asymptotic approximate solution is constructed, which is given b...

in this paper, we prove the strong uniform consistency and asymptotic normality of the kernel density estimator proposed by jones [12] for length-biased data.the approach is based on the invariance principle for the empirical processes proved by horváth [10]. all simulations are drawn for different cases to demonstrate both, consistency and asymptotic normality and the method is illustrated by ...

Accurate numerical calculations of electronic structure are often dominated in cost by tensor contractions. These tensors are typically symmetric under interchange of modes, enabling reduced-size representations as well as a reduced computation cost. Direct evaluation algorithms for such contractions use matrix and vector unfoldings of the tensors, computing and accumulating products of input e...

Abstract 1: CMAQ is a numerical air quality model which gives concentration of various air pollutants at several different scales. Our main interest is to model the conditional distribution of high resolution output (96 by 96 in space,576 hours) given low resolution output (24 by 24 in space, 576 hours). By a Haar Wavelet Packet Transform of high resolution output for each hour, we naturally li...

the purpose of this paper is to study the higher order asymptotic distributions of the eigenvalues associated with a class of sturm-liouville problem with equation of the form w??=(?2f(x)?r(x)) (1), on [a,b, where ? is a real parameter and f(x) is a real valued function in c2(a,b which has a single zero (so called turning point) at point 0x=x and r(x) is a continuously differentiable function. ...
