We apply blind source separation techniques from statistical signal processing to separate the traffic in a mix network into either individual flows or groups of flows. This separation requires no a priori information about the individual flows. As a result, unlinkability can be compromised without ever observing individual flows. Our experiments show that this attack is effective and scalable....

This paper presents a tutorial review of the problem of Blind Source Separation (BSS) and the properties of the classic adaptive algorithms when either the scoree function or a general (non-score) nonlinearity is employed in the algorithm. In new ndings it is shown that the separating solution for both sub-and super-Gausss ian signals can be stabilized by an algorithm employing any given nonlin...

In concentration of hydrogen peroxide, first, the solution should be quite pure, and then, it concentrate with methods such as vacuum distillation and cooling crystallization, because impurities in the hydrogen peroxide solution in high concentrations are causing decomposition of this substance; that is very dangerous. The purpose of this article is separation of chromium and magne...

MFI zeolite membranes were prepared on porous α-alumina substrates, using secondary growth of nano-seeded layers. The resulting membranes were characterized by means of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD), and pervaporation performance tests for separation of Benzene, Toluene and Xylene (BTX) mixture from contaminated water. The morphology, thickness, homogeneity,...

Background: The immunomagnetic separation technique is the basis of monocyte isolation and further generation of monocyte-derived dendritic cells. Objective: To compare the efficiency of monocyte positive and negative separation, concentration of beads, and their impact on generated dendritic cells. Methods: Monocytes were obtained using monoclonal antibody-coated magnetic beads followed the Fi...

In this article, we propose an on-line algorithm for Blind Source Separation of speech signals, which is recorded in a real environment. This on-line algorithm makes it possible to trace the changing environment. The idea is to apply some on-line algorithm in the time-frequency domain. We show some results of experiments.

In 1987, Kalai proved that stacked spheres of dimension d ≥ 3 are characterised by the fact that they attain equality in Barnette’s celebrated Lower Bound Theorem. This result does not extend to dimension d = 2. In this article, we give a characterisation of stacked 2-spheres using what we call the separation index. Namely, we show that the separation index of a triangulated 2-sphere is maximal...

| Source separation consists in recovering a set of independent signals when only mixtures with unknown coeecients are observed. This paper introduces a class of adaptive algorithms for source separation which implements an adaptive version of equivariant estimation and is henceforth called EASI (Equivariant Adaptive Separation via Independence). The EASI algorithms are based on the idea of ser...

In this contribution we review recent results obtained on blind source separation (BSS) and independent component analysis (ICA). In particular we show that maximi-sation of mutual information can lead to ICA, and we present new conditions on cross cumulants which guarantee that blind source separation has been performed.
