Greene (1) found that the proteins of bovine pancreatic juice and pancreatic zymogen granules contain identical concentrations of a ribonuclease that on chromatography over Amberlite IRC-50 exhibits the behavior of the enzyme previously called (2, 3) ribonuclease B. The present report deals with the isolation of ribonuclease B from bovine pancreatic juice and provides a description of some of i...
The author synthesized a Green reagent N, N1-bis (4-dimethyl amino benzyl) ethylene diamine for the analysis of heavy metals namely Fe, Cd, Cr, Cu and Co by FAAS using Amberlite-XAD-16 in various environmental samples. The results shows good recovery compared with the results obtained with Cytosine. Effects of pH, reagent concentration, flowrate, volume of sample etc were studied.
A simple, chemoselective transfer hydrogenation of aryl aldehydes with the aid of Amberlite((R)) resin formate (ARF), a stable H-donor, in the presence of catalytic ruthenium trichloride is described. Aromatic aldehydes and 1,2-diketones are reduced efficiently and selectively, while aryl ketones remain unchanged. Several other potentially reducible groups attached to the aromatic moiety are un...
Separation of the large molecular components of pooled human gastric juice into fractions of different biological activity by means of the Amberlite IRC-50 resin column has been reported earlier (1-6). In the present study a modification of this technic has been adapted to the fractionation of individual specimens of gastric juice. These modifications have improved and further standardized the ...
Background: According to traditional beliefs, chamomile products have anti-depression effect. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of chamomile tea on glycemic control, depression status and lipid profiles in type 2 diabetes (T2D) with depression. Methods: This randomized clinical trial was carried out on 74 depressed patients with T2D. Participants were randomly divided into tw...
Mammalian organs are known to decarboxylate a number of n-amino acids. Of the mammalian decarboxylases, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine decarboxylase is probably the most studied. Blaschko (1) reported values for DOPAl decarboxylase in .liver and kidney of several animal species. The enzyme was shown to be deactivated by dialysis and its activity restored by the addition of pyridoxal phosphate (2, 3...
Zinc metalloproteins are involved in many biological processes and play crucial biochemical roles across all domains of life. Local structure around the zinc ion, especially the coordination geometry (CG), is dictated by the protein sequence and is often directly related to the function of the protein. Current methodologies in characterizing zinc metalloproteins' CG consider only previously rep...
A minority of bereaved individuals experiences symptoms of complicated grief (CG) that are associated with significant distress and impairment. CG is currently under consideration for inclusion in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-V) and a major issue is whether or not it can be differentiated from major depressive disorder (MDD) and post-traumatic st...
OBJECTIVES Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is often associated with cryoglobulinaemia (CG). Peripheral neuropathy (PN) is a comparatively common complication of CG associated with HCV infection and it is thought to be attributable to nerve ischaemia. Only few HCV CG patients with PN have been reported. The recent finding of HCV RNA in nerve biopsy specimens has suggested a possible direct rol...
