Nanoscale polymeric fibers are expected to bring about exceptional mechanical and optical properties in composite materials related to the better integration of different properties between fibers and polymers. The discovery of the first aramid nanofiber dispersion from commercial para-aramid macrofibers similar to Kevlar developed by DuPont allowed the emergence of an innovative nanoscale buil...

Protein adsorption on nanoparticles is closely associated with the physicochemical properties of particles, in particular, their surface properties. We synthesized two batches of polyacrylic acid-coated nanoparticles under almost identical conditions except for the heating duration and found differences in the head-group structure of the polyacrylic acid. The structure change was confirmed by N...

The inverse degree r(G) of a finite graph G = (V,E) is defined as r(G) = ∑ v∈V 1 d(v) , where d(v) is the degree of vertex v. In Discrete Math. 310 (2010), 940-946, Mukwembi posed the following conjecture: Let G be a connected chemical graph with diameter diam(G) and inverse degree r(G). Then diam(G) ≤ 12 5 r(G) +O(1). In this paper, we settle the conjecture affirmatively.

We determine the sensitivities of the EVLA and VLA antennas over their full tuning ranges through analysis of the correlation coefficients. Interim EVLA antennas can tune over the full range of 940 through 2200 MHz. The prototype L-band OMT shows good performance over its design frequency range. The betterperforming interim EVLA antennas meet the Project Book sensitivity requirements above ∼115...
