In spite of the great development of "suicidology" in the last century, our present theoretical knowledge and treatment-preventive strategies are still incomplete. This paper summarises our knowledge on the recognition and treatment of suicidal adults according to the SWOT analysis, demonstrating the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats related to this topic.

What is Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA)? To answer this we provide a formal definition of GEOBIA, present a brief account of its coining, and propose a key objective for this new discipline. We then, conduct a SWOT analysis of its potential, and discuss its main tenets and plausible future. Much still remains to be accomplished.

The principal instrument of the SWOT mission is KaRIn, a Ka-band interferometric SAR system operating on two near nadir swaths on opposite sides of the satellite track. This article describes the specificities of images from such a SAR system as compared to images acquired by conventional spaceborne SAR systems. Both radiometric and geometric aspects are covered.
