Dissimilar joint with good quality and mechanical properties is one of the major problems the industries. One of the most commonly used methods to solve this problem is friction stir welding process. In this paper two different tool pin with simple cylindrical and screwed profile were used to finding optimization of friction stir welding parameters to reach best mixing flow, composite structure...

Periodic travelling waves (wavetrains) are an important solution type for many partial differential equations. In this paper I review the use of numerical continuation for studying these solutions. I discuss the calculation of the form and stability of a given periodic travelling wave, and the calculation of boundaries in a two-dimensional parameter plane for wave existence and stability. I als...

We study the travelling wave solutions for a system of coupled KdV equations derived by Lou et al [11]. In that paper, they found 5 types of Painlevé integrable systems for the coupled KdV system. We show that each of them can be reduced to a partially or completely uncoupled system, through which the dynamical behavior of travelling wave solutions can be determined. In some parameter regions, ...

Travelling salesman problem is a NP complete problem and can be solved using approximation algorithm. It is a minimization problem starting and finishing at a specified vertex after having visited each other vertex exactly once. Often, the model is a complete graph. An algorithm that returns near-optimal solutions is called approximation algorithms. Through analyzing the Metric TSP the performa...

A travelling Lamb wave tactile display has been developed. To indicate smooth or braking sensation, the device is controlled in order to impose the relative speed between the finger and the wave, so that a variable shear force appears on the fingerpulp. Moreover, at low frequency, an amplitude modulation of the travelling Lamb wave is achieved so as to excite alternatively shear forces on the s...

We propose a model for transport of solutes in a porous medium participating in a dissolu-tion/precipitation reaction, in general not in equilibrium. For an unbounded spatial domain, travelling wave solutions exist, if and only if the charge distribution is constant and we deal with a dissolution situation. The travelling wave in fact exhibits a sharp dissolution front. The wave is given in a n...

This paper is devoted to the travelling wave analysis of the Euler-Poisson model for a plasma consisting of electrons and ions. When the Debye length tends to 0, this system leads to a nonlinear hyperbolic system in a nonconservative form called quasineutral Euler system. Our aim is to determine the admissible jump relations and shock solutions for the quasineutral Euler system as limits of tra...

We investigate the properties of finite energy travelling waves to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with nonzero conditions at infinity for a wide class of nonlinearities. In space dimension two and three we prove that travelling waves converge in the transonic limit (up to rescaling) to ground states of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation. Our results generalize an earlier result of F. Béthu...

Euler’s equations describe the dynamics of gravity waves on the surface of an ideal fluid with arbitrary depth. In this paper, we discuss the stability of periodic travelling wave solutions to the full set of nonlinear equations via a non-local formulation of the water wave problem, modified from that of Ablowitz, Fokas & Musslimani (J. Fluid Mech., vol. 562, 2006, p. 313), restricted to a one-...

We introduce a nonlinear dispersive quintic equation. Its travelling waves are governed by a linear equation. We construct a large variety of explicit compact solitary waves. Some of these compactons are very robust, others decompose very quickly. Numerical simulations also reveal the existence of compact travelling breathers. c © 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
