This work concerns itself on two new coupled mKdV systems, the first with time-dependent coefficients, and the second with constant coefficients. The soliton ansatz will be used for the first system to obtain 1-bright soliton solution. The simplified form of the bilinear method will be used to derive multiple-soliton solutions and multiple singular soliton solutions for the second coupled mKdV ...

In this paper, the coupled dispersive (2+1)-dimensional long wave equation is studied. The traveling wave hypothesis yields complexiton solutions. Subsequently, the wave equation is studied with power law nonlinearity where the ansatz method is applied to yield solitary wave solutions. The constraint conditions for the existence of solitons naturally fall out of the derivation of the soliton so...

We construct a self-dual string soliton solution in AdS4×S spacetime, starting from the covariant equations of motion of M5-brane. We study the properties of the solution and find that it is half-BPS and has the same electric and magnetic charge. The straight string soliton solution behaves like the spiky solution in flat spacetime. Email:bchen01@pku.edu.cn

We consider a chiral one-loop hedgehog soliton of the bosonized SU(2) f Nambu & Jona-Lasinio model which is embedded in a hot medium of constituent quarks. Energy and radius of the soliton are determined in self-consistent mean-field approximation. Quasi-classical corrections to the soliton energy are derived by means of the pushing and cranking approaches. The corresponding inertial parameters...

Soliton density wave is investigated numerically and analytically in the optimal velocity model (a car-following model) of a one-dimensional traffic flow with open boundaries. Soliton density wave is distinguished from the kink density wave. It is shown that the soliton density wave appears only at the threshold of occurrence of traffic jams. The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived from...

The Hopf term in the 2+ 1 dimensional O(3) nonlinear sigma model, which is known to be responsible for fractional spin and statistics, is re-examined from the viewpoint of quantization ambiguity. It is confirmed that the Hopf term can be understood as a term induced quantum mechanically, in precisely the same manner as the θ-term in QCD. We present a detailed analysis of the topological aspect ...

We report an exact bright and dark soliton solution to the nonlinear evolution equation derived by MOSES and WISE (Phys. Rev. Lett. 97, 2006, 073903) for cascaded quadratic media beyond the slowly varying envelope approximations. The integrability aspects of the model are addressed. The travelling wave hypothesis as well as the ansatz method are employed to obtain an exact 1-soliton solution. B...

In this work we consider an Abelian O(3) sigma model coupled nonminimally with a gauge field governed by Maxwell and Chern-Simons terms. Bogomol’nyi equations are constructed for a specific form of the potential and generic nonminimal coupling constant. Furthermore, topological and nontopological self-dual soliton solutions are obtained for a critical value of the nonminimal coupling constant. ...

We propose composite solitons carrying topological charge: multicomponent two dimensional [ (2+1)D] vector (Manakov-like) solitons for which at least one component carries topological charge. These multimode solitons can have a single hump or exhibit a multihump structure. The "spin" carried by these multimode composite solitons suggests 3D soliton interactions in which the particlelike behavio...

The article reviews two–dimensional magnetic solitons in a classical weakly– anisotropic Heisenberg magnets. Topological classification, structure, dynamical properties and thermodynamical contribution of 2D solitons to response functions of the magnet are discussed. On the basis of taking in the paper effective equations of motion we calculated the soliton contribution to the dynamical structu...
