We present an efficient strategy to identify anodizing electrolytes by coupling conventional Eh–pH diagrams with first-principles density functional theory calculations. Herein, the growth of ultra-thin films having a thickness 10–20 nm is successfully demonstrated on thermally evaporated holmium. Considering only thermodynamic basis, simulated Eh-pH diagrams, and solubility analysis, different...
High quality GGG:Cr,Ca crystal for passive Q-switching Nd:garnet lasers has been grown by the Czochralski method. Thermal treatment of GGG crystals co-doped with Cr4+ and Ca2+ at different temperatures is investigated. The absorption spectra were resolved into different peaks, of modified Gaussian line-shape. Transition from octahedral sites to tetrahedral ones is thermally activated. An...

This paper presents a formal computational methodology to explain how the oxide in semiconductors degrades over time and the dependence of oxide degradation on voltage and temperature stresses. The effects of aging are modeled and quantified by modification of the gate-source capacitance value. The model output is validated using experimental results of a thermally aged power semiconductor device.
We used local probe techniques to characterize electron beam ~e-beam! induced changes in thin oxides on silicon. Primary effects of the 1 nm wide, 300 keV e beam included the formation of positive charges trapped in the SiO2 , physical restructuring in the oxide, and deposition of carbonaceous compounds. Charges remained stable in thicker oxides ~460 nm! and appeared as changes in the contact p...
Abstract Copper oxides have some interesting photocatalytic properties and reasonably low price which makes them applicable as PN transistors. However, to obtain the best performance it is necessary increase specific working surface of materials plays a key role in many applications. Furthermore, by ordered spacing heterojunction formation possible fabricate systems with dedicated properties, l...
The multilayer graphene oxide membranes (MGOMs) are fabricated using graphite oxide synthesized using a rare form of high purity natural vein graphite (NVG) and are characterized using FE-SEM, AFM and C 1s and O 1s core level photoemission (ESCA) for their properties. It is observed that NVG based MGOM can be thermally reduced energy efficiently to obtain graphene-like membranes. Keywords—graph...
We review two strategies for growing ZnO nanowires from zinc salts in aqueous and organic solvents. Wire arrays with diameters in the nanoscale regime can be grown in an aqueous solution of zinc nitrate and hexamethylenetetramine. With the addition of poly(ethylenimine), the lengths of the wires have been increased to 25 mum with aspect ratios over 125. Additionally, these arrays were made vert...
Abstract Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has great potential to produce graphene films at large-scale. However, CVD production of usually requires a catalytic metal substrate, such as copper. Recently we have developed new method grow directly on crystalline silicon wafers with thermally grown 300 nm oxide layer, using seeded-CVD growth approach. The use methane the feedstock and optimized seed...
