This unit describes the fractionation and analysis of neutral oligosaccharides by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) on bonded amine columns. Separation is based upon hydrogen bonding between the NH2 groups of the column and the hydroxyl groups of the oligosaccharides. A support protocol describes the reduction and desalting of neutral oligosaccharides with sodium borohydride.

A fuel cell operating with aqueous sodium borohydride and hydrogen peroxide streams, with one, two and four cells (electrode area 64, 128 nd 256 cm2) connected in a bipolar mode in a filterpress flow cell is reported. The oxidation of borohydride ion was carried out on Au/C particles upported on a carbon felt electrode while the reduction of hydrogen peroxide was carried out on carbon supported...

The inherent property of palladium to form hydride is effectively exploited for the removal of adsorbed stabilizer and capping agents. Formation of hydride on exposure of Pd nanoparticles to sodium-borohydride weakens the metal's interaction with the adsorbed-impurities and thus enables their easy removal without compromising the shape, size and dispersion.

Studies directed at the amine exchange reaction of vinamidinium salts followed by sodium borohydride reduction to secondary and tertiary allylic amines are described. The tertiary allylic amines were alkylated and subjected to base mediated rearrangement to yield a variety of highly functionalized tertiary homoallylic amines.

A facile, low-temperature reduction method using sodium borohydride to yield corundum-type Ti(2)O(3) nanorods from rutile-type TiO(2) nanorods with morphology retention is proposed. The electrochemical analyses confirmed their promising performance as electrodes and excellent stability to the environment of interest for fuel cell operation.

In this communication, we present the crystal structure of a secondary amine: 4-chloro-N-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl)aniline (Lb) obtained from stepwise reduction an imine, (E)-N-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethan-1-imine (La) with sodium borohydride. The was characterized by FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR, Mass Spectroscopy X-ray diffraction.

Manganese oxides are often used as catalysts for oxygen reduction reactions due to their low price and high stability, they have been extensively studied. However, the poor electrical conductivity intrinsic activity of manganese restrict its application in reduction. In this paper, oxide octahedral molecular sieve is research object, performance material adjusted by surface etching treatment so...

Hydroquinone (HQ) was used as the principal chemical reducing agent to prepare aqueous silver nanocolloids from silver nitrate. The data demonstrate that HQ is unable to initiate the particle growth process on its own, but is able to sustain particle growth in the presence of pre-existing metallic clusters. This unique selectivity is similar to that seen in photographic systems. Data are presen...
