This article proposes the influence of cocoon drying technology on properties shell and pupa silkworm. We also analyzed change in initial weight cocoons treated at different temperatures, microscopic view shells. Cocoons grown times year were taken as object study. As a result treatment with an infrared ray, hot air chemical methods, yield, color solubility compared analyzed.

Topical application with 100, 200 and 300 ng/ml phytohormone salicyclic acid on commercial traits was analysed in bivoltine CSR2, CSR4 and CSR2XCSR4 crossbreed races of the silkworm, Bombyx mori L. The results showed that there was significant increase in larval weight female cocoon weight, male cocoon shell weight, and hatching percentage with 100 and 200 ng/ml, silkgland weight, female cocoo...

In this article, one of the ways to effectively use non-smooth defective cocoons that cannot be used in reeling is covered. An analysis development silk industry and scientific work currently being carried out direction presented. Water air permeability produced during cocoon sorting, evaporation regimes, influence solution concentration on cocooning was studied by single cocooning. It based fa...

The Bombyx mori fibroin light (L)-chain gene was cloned and the green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene inserted into exon 7. The chimeric L-chain-GFP gene was used to replace the polyhedrin gene of Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcNPV). This recombinant virus was used to target the L-chain-GFP gene to the L-chain region of the silkworm genome. Female moths were infected with the rec...

The classification and characterization of silkworm strains are important for sericulture, which is supported by the constant development of new hybrids. In this study, 16 parental strains of Bombyx mori L from the germplasm banks of the Universidade Estadual de Maringá--UEM, and Associação dos Criadores de Bicho-da-Seda de Nova Esperança e Regiões Sericícolas do Paraná--ACESP, were evaluated r...

Collagen is ubiquitous throughout the animal kingdom, where it comprises some 28 diverse molecules that form the extracellular matrix within organisms. In the 1960s, an extracorporeal animal collagen that forms the cocoon of a small group of hymenopteran insects was postulated. Here we categorically demonstrate that the larvae of a sawfly species produce silk from three small collagen proteins....
