The microstructure and its crystallographic aspect of the shell of a limpet, Lottiakogamogai, have been investigated, as the first step to clarify the mechanism of shell formation in limpet. The shell consists of five distinct layers stacked along the shell thickness direction. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with the focused ion beam (FIB) sample preparation technique was primarily adop...
The isovector and isoscalar components of neutron-proton pairing are investigated in the N=Z unstable nuclei \textit{fp}-shell through two-nucleon transfer reaction (p,$^3$He) inverse kinematics. combination particle gamma-ray detection with radioactive beams $^{56}$Ni $^{52}$Fe, produced by fragmentation at GANIL/LISE facility, made it possible to carry out this study for first time a closed a...
Being economical and performing well under cyclic loads, steel sections filled with concrete have been widely used in structural buildings. Extensive studies and experiments have been conducted to investigate the influence of different parameters and loadings on the behavior of these structural components. Based on the data available from previous experiments and studies, this paper discusses t...

We report the measurement of sin θW in ν − N deep inelastic scattering from the NuTeV experiment. Using separate neutrino and anti-neutrino beams, NuTeV is able to determine sin θW with low systematic errors by measuring the Paschos-Wolfenstein variable R, a ratio of differences of neutrino and anti-neutrino neutral-current and charged-current cross-sections. NuTeV measures sin θW (on−shell) = ...
The fusion evaporation-residue cross sections for 32 S+ 184 W have been mea-246, and 257 MeV using the ATLAS Fragment Mass Analyzer. The data are compared with Statistical Model calculations and it is found that a nuclear dissipation strength, which increases with the excitation energy is required to reproduce the excitation function. A comparison with previously published data shows that the d...
The NuTeV Collaboration has extracted the electroweak parameter sin(2)theta(W) from the measurement of the ratios of neutral current to charged current nu and (-)nu cross sections. Our value, sin(2)theta((on-shell))(W) = 0.2277 +/- 0.0013(stat) +/- 0.0009(syst), is 3 standard deviations above the standard model prediction. We also present a model independent analysis of the same data in terms o...
A simple description for obtaining the parity distribution of nuclear levels in the pf + g9/2 shell as a function of excitation energy was recently derived. We implement this in a global nuclear level density model. In the framework of the statistical model, cross sections and astrophysical reaction rates are calculated in the Fe region and compared to rates obtained with the common assumption ...
In heavy ion collisions, the molecular single-particle motion may cause specific structures in the energy dependence of the cross sections which anse by the promotion of nucleons at level crossings according to the Landau-Zener excitation mechanism. In order to examine this effect in asymmetric heavy ion collisions, we have calculated level diagrams of the two-center shell model for the target ...
