A new V-shaped slot antenna built on a dielectric substrate is presented. The antenna is a non-resonant, travelling-wave design, with a predicted impedance in the range from 50R t o €400. Calculations indicate that this antenna should have a gain of 15 dB with 3-dB beamwidths of loo in the H plane and 134' in the E plane. Pattern measurements at QOGHz support the theory. It should be possible t...

Integrated lens antennas are widely used in high gain and beam steering applications at millimeter-wave frequencies. The ILA has often large height suffers from significant scan loss. In this article, we demonstrate a low-profile, efficient, scanloss-reduced integrated metal-lens antenna (IMLA). An IMLA is combination of dielectric metal–plate lens. Abstract—The design, simulation and fabrication of a left-handed metamaterial (LHM) structure is presented. The combination of the modified square rectangular Split Ring Resonator (SRR) and the Capacitance Loaded Strip (CLS) were used to obtain the negative value of permeability, μ and the negative permittivity, ε. NicolsonRoss-Wier approach was used to identify the double negative region. A go...

This paper proposes a millimeter-wave lens antenna using 3-dimensional (3D) printing technology to reduce weight and provide stable gain performance. The consists of four-layer cylindrical gradient-index (GRIN) fed by wideband Yagi antenna. We designed fractal cell geometry achieve the desired effective permittivity for GRIN lens. Among different candidates, honeycomb structure is chosen high m...

A novel tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy setup with longitudinal field excitation generated by a plasmonic lens is investigated. A symmetry-breaking structure plasmonic lens that is expected to realize a strong longitudinal electric field focus has been designed to generate suitable excitation for enhancement in a tip antenna. The focusing performance of the plasmonic lens is theoretically simul...

Several designs for Fresnel zone plate lenses (FZPLs) to be used in conjunction with antenna-coupled infrared detectors have been fabricated and tested. The designs comprise square and circular FZPLs with different numbers of Fresnel zones working in transmissive or reflective modes designed to focus infrared energy on a square-spiral antenna connected to a microbolometer. A 163x maximum increa...
