Because of a speedy pace of technology innovation, the competition of the information and communication industries in Taiwan has grown vigorously. At the same time, the demand of consumers has become more sophisticated than ever. In order to outperform competitors and fulfill consumers’ sophisticated requests, retailers of 3C (Computer, Communication, and Consumer Electronics) products, on one ...

This paper proposes a ternary relation extraction method primarily based on rich syntactic information. We identify PROTEIN-ORGANISM-LOCATION relations in the text of biomedical articles. Different kernel functions are used with an SVM learner to integrate two sources of information from syntactic parse trees: (i) a large number of syntactic features that have been shown useful for Semantic Rol...

This paper proposes a convolution tree kernel-based approach for relation extraction where the parse tree is expanded with entity features such as entity type, subtype, and mention level etc. Our study indicates that not only can our method effectively capture both syntactic structure and entity information of relation instances, but also can avoid the difficulty with tuning the parameters in c...

In this paper we present a hybrid approach to resolve Entity-pronoun references in Hindi. While most of the existing approaches, syntactic as well as data-driven, use phrase-structure syntax for anaphora resolution, we explore use of dependency structures as a source of syntactic information. In our approach, dependency structures are used by a rule-based module to resolve simple anaphoric refe...

Discovering the interactions between persons mentioned in a set of topic documents can help readers construct the background of a topic and facilitate comprehension. In this paper, we propose a rich interactive tree structure to represent syntactic, content, and semantic information in text. We also present a composite kernel classification method that integrates the tree structure with a bigra...

This paper proposes a novel composite kernel for relation extraction. The composite kernel consists of two individual kernels: an entity kernel that allows for entity-related features and a convolution parse tree kernel that models syntactic information of relation examples. The motivation of our method is to fully utilize the nice properties of kernel methods to explore and combine diverse fea...

There are several motivations for CRM systems adoption, some of them aligned with the results of CRM implementation. This paper presents the main findings of a study undertaken among a sample of Portuguese large enterprises, identifying and discussing the main motivations and results of the adoption of CRM systems. It was possible to conclude that the main results of CRM adoption reflect the ma...

Dead trees protection, has a key role in structural and biogeochemical processes in forest ecosystems. Some aspects of dead tree dynamics have been carefully studied, but the kind and decay degree of dead trees and forest soil properties have not received enough attention. The aim of this research was to study the effect of a kind and decay degree of dead trees on soil mineral properties in the...

Substantial molecular evidence indicates that tree-shrews, colugos and primates cluster together on the mammalian phylogenetic tree. Previously, a sister-group relationship between colugos and primates seemed likely. A new study of colugo chromosomes indicates instead an affinity between colugos and tree-shrews.

Periodic tree are combinatorial structures which are in bijection with cluster tilting objects of affine type Ãn−1. The internal edges of the tree encode the c-vectors corresponding to the cluster tilting object. (See [8].) In this paper we assign a unipotent matrix to each tree, giving the relationship between cluster tilting objects and (pro)pictures for torsion-free (pro)nilpotent groups.
