A general formalism is worked out for the description of onedimensional scattering by non-local separable potentials and constraints on transmission and reflection coefficients are derived in the cases of P, T or PT invariance of the Hamiltonian. We present the discrete analog of Snell’s refraction law at the interface between two dissimilar waveguide arrays. Additionally, reflection and transmission coefficients for the Bloch waves are derived analytically. The theoretical findings were confirmed by analyzing the evolution of light in femtosecond laser written waveguide arrays.

We investigate the motion of fermions in the presence of an electroweak phase transition bubble wall. We derive and solve the Dirac equation for such fermions, and compute the transmission and reflection coefficients for fermions traveling from the symmetric to the asymmetric phases separated by the domain wall. We investigate the scattering of phase oscillation of Bose-Einstein Condensate by a ’draining of bathtub’ type fluid motion. We derive a relation between the reflection and transmission coefficients which exhibits existence of analog of ’Superradiance effect’ in BEC vortex with sink.

We found an infinite number of potentials surrounding 2d black hole. According to the transmission T and reflection R coefficients for scattering of string fields off 2d black hole, we can classify an infinite number of potentials into three : graviton-dilaton, tachyon and the other types. We suggest that the discrete states from all the Virasoro levels be candidates for new potentials (modes).
