We study the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with general nonlinearity of competing type. This equation have travelling waves with nonvanishing condition at infinity in one dimension. We give a sharp condition for the stability and instability of these solutions. This justifies the previous prediction posed in physical literature.

We prove that the initial value problem for the two-dimensional modified ZakharovKuznetsov equation is locally well-posed for data in H(R), s > 3/4. In this article we study about Shannon wavelet in L α space for every positive α, then by using this approximation for ill-posed Fred-holm integral equation of the first kind and using collocation method, we try to estimate the solution of integral equation. Finally, convergence of this method is discussed and some numerical examples show the accuracy of this method.

The exponential decay rate of L−norm related to the Korteweg-de Vries equation with localized damping posed on the whole real line is established. In addition, using classical arguments we determine that the solutions associated to the fully damped Korteweg-de Vries equation do not decay in H− level for arbitrary initial data.
