Pseudocholinesterase (PChE), also known as plasma cholinesterase, is a serine hydrolase capable of hydrolyzing esters including acetylcholine, succinylcholine, mivacurium and ester type local anesthetics such as procaine, chloroprocaine, tetracaine, cocaine and heroin.
