In general, anatase TiO2 exhibits higher photocatalytic activities than rutile TiO2. However, the reasons for the differences in photocatalytic activity between anatase and rutile are still being debated. In this work, the band structure, density of states, and effective mass of photogenerated charge carriers for anatase, rutile and brookite TiO2 are investigated by the first-principle density ...
the present study aimed at investigating the relationship between iranian efl teachers’ classroom management orientations and their teaching styles. additionally, the difference between male and female teachers’ teaching styles and classroom management orientations and their relationship with experience and age were explored. three hundred efl teachers filled in attitudes and beliefs on classro...
Anatase TiO(2) single crystals with exposed {001} and {110} facets have been successfully synthesized using a modified hydrothermal technique in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and hydrofluoric acid solution; these single crystals exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activities for degradation of Methylene Blue dye under ultraviolet light irradiation.
This work reports on the construction of a Bi24O31Cl10/BiOCl heterojunction via a simple thermal annealing method. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated that the phase transformation from BiOCl to Bi24O31Cl10 could be realized during the thermal annealing process. The high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) binding energy s...
Novel photocatalysts Y2MSbO7 (M = Ga, In, Gd) were synthesized by the solid state reaction method for the first time. A comparative study on the structural and photocatalytic properties of Y2MSbO7 (M = Ga, In, Gd) was reported. The results showed that Y2GaSbO7, Y2InSbO7 and Y2GdSbO7 crystallized with the pyrochlore-type structure, cubic crystal system, and space group Fd3m. The lattice paramete...
Absorption spectra (150-300 nm) of TiO2 and TiO2 modified with metal (Pt, Pd, and Au) nanoparticles were systematically measured using an attenuated total reflection-far ultraviolet spectrometer. The deposition of metal nanoparticles altered the spectral shape and intensity, indicating changes in the electronic states and photocatalytic activities of TiO2.
We report ripening of metal particles anchored on pyramid-shaped heterostructure nanocrystals. The 'intra-particle' ripening results in a large metal tip at one corner with the other three tips vanishing. Investigation reveals that the ripening and core/shell formation affects photocatalytic activities via the Fermi level change.
An optimized and general synthetic strategy based on in-situ iodine modifying of polymeric graphitic carbon nitride is discussed. The as-prepared iodine functionalized g-CN shows enhanced electronic and optical properties, as well as increased photocatalytic activities in an assay of hydrogen evolution.
