BACKGROUND Rectal tumors can be excised through a number of minimally invasive transanal techniques including transanal excision, transanal endoscopic microsurgery, and transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS). Specialty training is often required to master the nuances of these approaches. This study aimed to create a reproducible transanal excision training model that is suited for laparoe...
We report our experience with an unusual case of sclerosing hemangioma (SH) that formed a pedunculated mass protruding into the thoracic cavity. A pulmonary tumor was found in a 60-year-old female during the medical examination. Computed tomography showed a 19 × 17-mm nodule with a clear border and smooth margin contiguous with the diaphragm in the right S8 segment. Uneven enhancement following...
Introduction: A huge, pedunculated, multiseptated, cystic pelvic mass with normal uterus may cause misinterpretation of the computed tomography (CT) scan, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan and PET-CT as a malignant ovarian epithelial tumor. Case Report: A 56-year-old multipara woman complained of lower abdominal pain, abdominal distension and she consulted to local hospital. Cancer antigen ...
A middle age woman was hospitalized for investigation of a mobile filling defect in the stomach with exacerbation of 3-year gastric symptoms. Gastroscopy revealed a huge pedunculated polyp. Histologic report of the mass was gastric antral lipoma. Since the patient refused surgery, cauterization polypectomy was performed without any complication.
A new spirurid nematode, Protospirura canariensis n. sp., a parasite of the black rat Rattus rattus Linnaeus, 1758 (Rodentia: Muridae), in El Hierro Island (Canary Archipelago, Spain), was described by means light (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The most discriminating characteristics between species remaining genus were observed to be following: (a) number tooth-like outgrowths su...

CLINICAL PICTURE A 56-year-old post-menopausal woman presented with a right pelviabdominal mass. Sonography and CT examination showed a large extrauterine mass arising from the right adnexa and extending into the abdo...
