Biliary fistulas are rare complications of gallstone. They can affect either the biliary or the gastrointestinal tract and are usually classified as primary or secondary. The primary fistulas are related to the biliary lithiasis, while the secondary ones are related to surgical complications. Laparoscopic surgery is a therapeutic option for the treatment of primary biliary fistulas. However, it...

Here, we present the case of a 78-year-old man with a deep neck infection that caused descending necrotizing mediastinitis that extended from the pharynx to the stomach and was accompanied by two large esophageal fistulas and multiple gastric ulcers. We believe that the series of lesions were the signs of a hidden carcinoma.
An endovascular intervention is a feasible alternative to the technically challenging conventional surgery for the treatment of traumatic vertebral arterial lesions. This report describes a rare case involving a 22-year-old patient with a traumatic vertebral arterial pseudoaneurysm and multiple arteriovenous fistulas which were successfully sealed using the endovascular stent-graft technique.
The authors describe two patients with multiple spinal arteriovenous fistulas and exclusive epidural venous drainage. Both presented with a myelopathy caused by compression by large epidural veins. Both had arterial embolizations, but one required a venous approach to achieve a stable clinical result.
Enterocutaneous fistulas cause considerable mortality and morbidity following gastrointestinal surgery. Most occur after surgery for malignant, diverticular or inflammatory bowel disease; fewer patients with these conditions develop fistulas spontaneously. Care is often long and costly1, although spontaneous closure can occur with non-operative management in 60–75 per of patients2. The goals of...
Aortocaval fistula (ACF) is a rare complication of spontaneous abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) rupture, with an incidence of 2-4%. A unique case of ruptured AAA complicated by multiple aortovenous fistulas involving the inferior vena cava and left internal iliac vein is presented, and is the first published report of a patient with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome undergoing surgical treatment for an ACF.
