ERECTOR SPINAE REFLEX STUDIES IN HEALTHY SUBJECTS REVEALED TWO RESPONSES: a 12·0±1·6 ms latency, oligosynaptic response, and a 30 to 50 ms latency response with polysynaptic reflex characteristics. There was a silent period after the first and second responses. The effect of limb position, trunk, neck, postural changes, Jendrassik manoeuvre and vibration on both responses were also evaluated.
detection of 5 latent herpes viruses and pneumocystis jirovecii in saliva of healthy children by pcr
background: herpes virus group can persist in the latent form in the body, pneumocystis jerovecii, on the other hand, is a fungus which is ubiquitous in the respiratory tract of mammals, with 90% of adult human beings possessing antibodies to this organism. concomitant presence of different microorganisms, may result in one microorganism altering the activity of another. objectives: to determin...
In our earlier study, we proposed SIGMA, a Seamless IP diversity based Generalized Mobility Architecture. SIGMA utilizes IP diversity to achieve a seamless handover of a mobile host, and is designed to solve many of the drawbacks of Mobile IP. In this paper, we compare the handover latency of SIGMA and recent MIPv6 enhancements, namely, FMIPv6, HMIPv6, and FHMIPv6. Various parameters are consid...
The standard psychometric scores show a fair degree of correlation with event-related evoked potential (ERP) latencies and amplitude. Since, both latency and amplitude are known to change during mental activity, it becomes important to consider both pre- and post-task ERP parameters is such correlative studies. In the present study, we have compared the psychometric scores obtained through WAIS...
The lithium-pilocarpine model of epilepsy reproduces in rodents several features of human temporal lobe epilepsy, by inducing an acute status epilepticus (SE) followed by a latency period. It has been proposed that the neuronal network reorganization that occurs during latency determines the subsequent appearance of spontaneous recurrent seizures. The aim of this study was to evaluate neuronal ...
introduction: excessive olivo-cerebellar burst-firing occurs during harmaline-induced tremor. we hypothesized that antiglutamatergic agents would suppress harmaline tremor. from this point of view, the aim of current study was to investigate the effects of riluzole on harmaline-induced tremor in rat. material and methods: four groups of wistar rats weighing 80–100 g were injected with harmaline...
Although dual-task interference is ubiquitous in a variety of task domains, stop-signal studies suggest that response inhibition is not subject to such interference. Nevertheless, no study has directly examined stop-signal performance in a dual-task setting. In two experiments, stop-signal performance was examined in a psychological refractory period task, in which subjects inhibited one respon...
The standard bottleneck model of the psychological refractory period (PRP) assumes that the selection of the second response is postponed until the first response has been selected. Accordingly, dual-task interference is attributed to a single central-processing bottleneck involving decision and response selection, but not the execution of the response itself. In order to critically examine the...
We generalize the classical Cayley-Dickson doubling process starting with a quaternion algebra over a field F by allowing the scalar in the doubling to be an invertible element in the algebra. We investigate the resulting eight-dimensional algebras over F and show that they are division algebras for all scalars chosen in D outside of the base field F , if D is a division algebra.
