Abstract Background and objective: The effects of lactobacillus Species and their metabolites on dairy products were proved as probiotics on pathogenic bacteria. The aim of this study was to isolate the lactobacillus from dairy product (Yogurt, cheese, milk and whey …) and to determine the antimicrobial activity against some pathogenic bacteria (Salmonella typhimurium, E.coli, Helicobacter pyl...
We announce here a draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus fermentum NB-22, a strain isolated from human vaginal microbiota. The assembled sequence consists of 190 contigs, joined into 137 scaffolds, and the total size is 2.01 Mb.
Lactobacillus gasseri K7 is an isolate from infant feces and has in vitro and in vivo established probiotic properties. Here, we report the improved version of the draft genome sequence, which comprises 8 scaffolds (13 contigs), a total length of 1.99 Mb, and 1,841 predicted protein-coding sequences.
We report the draft genome sequence of the probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain CRL1505. This new probiotic strain has been included into official Nutritional Programs in Argentina. The draft genome sequence is composed of 3,417,633 bp with 3,327 coding sequences.
Lactobacillus bacteremia: description of the clinical course in adult patients without endocarditis.
Lactobacillus bacteremia in the absence of endocarditis is a rare entity, and the clinical relevance of such bacteremia remains unclear. The clinical courses of lactobacillus bacteremia without endocarditis in 43 previously described patients and 12 new patients were reviewed. Bacteremia with Lactobacillus alone occurred in 34 (62%) of the patients, and 12 (22%) of the patients had bacteremia w...
An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of Lactobacillus on growth performance, serum metabolite, the number of mast cells and microbial community diversity of growing Rex Rabbits. A total of 120 rabbits weaned at age of 30 days were randomly divided into four groups. The control group was fed on basal diet only. The group I was fed on basal diet with antibiotics (Zinc Bacitracin),...
As lactobacilli possess an antagonistic growth property, these bacteria may be beneficial as bioprotective agents for infection control. However, whether the antagonistic growth effects are attributed to the lactobacilli themselves or their fermentative broth remains unclear. The antagonistic growth effects of Lactobacillus salivarius and Lactobacillus fermentum as well as their fermentative br...
Background and purpose: Phytic acid plays a major role in reducing the bioavailability of minerals in food. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of controlled sourdough fermentation on reduction of phytate content in dough and bread produced by whole wheat flour containing Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus brevis. Materials and methods: This experimental study was carried...
the popularity of non-dairy probiotic products continues to persist as the consumers prefer functional foods satisfying their health needs. among these promising foods, probiotic grape drink would have beneficial effects on modifying gastrointestinal flora and human health. in this study, the pasteurized grape drink was inoculated by three species of lactic acid bacteria (lactobacillus delbruec...
Lactobacillus plantarum WLPL04, a novel strain, was isolated from a breast milk sample from a healthy woman and demonstrated several probiotic functions. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of this strain, which contains 3,192,587 bp, a G+C content of 44.52%, 3,158 protein-coding genes, and 53 tRNA genes.
