We define a class of L-convex-concave subsets of RP , where L is a projective line in RP . These are sets whose sections by any plane containing L are convex and concavely depend on this plane. We prove a version of Arnold’s conjecture for these sets, namely we prove that each such set contains a line.

We define a class of L-convex-concave subsets of RP 3 , where L is a projective line in RP 3. These are sets whose sections by any plane containing L are convex and concavely depend on this plane. We prove a version of Arnold hypothesis for these sets, namely we prove that each such set contains a line.

Let dent A denote the set of denting points of a subset A of some Banach space. We prove dent cl co( K ® L) = dent K ® dent L for closed, bounded, absolutely convex subsets K and L of Banach spaces X and Y. Here the closure refers to the completion of X ® Y w.r.t. some reasonable crossnorm.

Introduction: Quantitative evaluation is recommended to improve diagnostic ability and serial assessment of dopamine transporter (DAT) density scans. We decided to compare the ordered subsets expectation-maximization (OSEM) with filtered back-projection (FBP), and to investigate the impact of different iteration and cut-off frequencies on SBR values. Methods</stro...

Let (Q.,l,ß) be a probability space, X a Banach space, and L (fi, X) the Banach space of Bochner integrable functions f: Í2 —> X . Let W = {/ € Ll(p, X) : for a.e. w in Í2, ||/(w)|| < 1} . In this paper we characterize the rwc (relatively weakly compact) subsets of L (ß, X). The main results are as follows: Theorem A. A subset H of W is rwc iff given any sequence (/„) in H there exists a sequen...

This work considers a natural generalization of primitivity with respect to a language. Given a language L, a nonempty word w is said to be L-primitive if w is not a proper power of any word in L. After ascertaining the number of primitive words in submonoids of a free monoid, the work proceeds to count L-primitive words in submonoids of a free monoid. The work also studies the distribution of ...

This paper shows necessary and sufficient conditions on subsets of variable exponent spaces Lp(?)(?) in order to be weakly compact. Useful criteria are given extending Andô results for Orlicz spaces. As application, we prove that all separable Banach-Saks. Also, L-weakly compact inclusions between studied.

Antigen-presenting cells (APC), like dendritic cells (DC), are essential for T-cell activation, leading to immunity or tolerance. Multiple DC subsets each play a unique role in the immune response. Here, a novel splenic dendritic-like APC has been characterized in mice that has immune function and cell surface phenotype distinct from other, described DC subsets. These were identified as a cell ...

Working in L[E], we examine which large cardinal properties of κ imply that all stationary subsets of cof(<κ) ∩ κ reflect.

the vertex arboricity $rho(g)$ of a graph $g$ is the minimum number of subsets into which the vertex set $v(g)$ can be partitioned so that each subset induces an acyclic graph‎. ‎a graph $g$ is called list vertex $k$-arborable if for any set $l(v)$ of cardinality at least $k$ at each vertex $v$ of $g$‎, ‎one can choose a color for each $v$ from its list $l(v)$ so that the subgraph induced by ev...
