Given a discrete and countable inverse semigroup $S$ one can study, in analogy to the group case, its geometric aspects. In particular, we equip with natural metric, given by path metric disjoint union of Sch\"{u}tzenberger graphs. This graph, which denote $\Lambda_S$, inherits much structure $S$. this article compare C*-algebra $\mathcal{R}_S$, generated left regular representation on $\ell^2(...

In this paper, we prove that the algebra of an étale groupoid with totally disconnected unit space has a simple over field if and only is minimal effective function vanishes on every open subset null function. Previous work subject required to be also topologically principal in non-Hausdorff case, but do not. Furthermore, provide first examples not groupoids spaces. Our come from self-similar g...

The idempotent problem of a finitely generated inverse semi-group is the formal language of all words over the generators representing idempotent elements. This note proves that a finitely generated inverse semigroup with regular idempotent problem is necessarily finite. This answers a question of Gilbert and Noonan Heale, and establishes a gen-eralisation to inverse semigroups of Anisimov's Th...

A factorizable inverse monoid can be identified, up to isomorphism, with an inverse submonoid M of a symmetric inverse monoid I(X) where each element of M is a restriction of a permutation of X belonging to M . So factorizable inverse monoids are natural objects, and appear in a number of branches of mathematics, cf. [12], [4]. The notion of an almost factorizable inverse semigroup was introduc...

The minimal degree of an inverse semigroup S is the minimal cardinality of a set A such that S is isomorphic to an inverse semigroup of one-to-one partial transformations of A . The main result is a formula that expresses the minimal degree of a finite inverse semigroup S in terms of certain subgroups and the ordered structure of S . In fact, a representation of S by one-to-one partial transfor...

A semilattice decomposition of an inverse semigroup has good internal mapping properties. These are used to give natural proofs of some embedding theorems, which were originally proved in a rather artificial way. The reader is referred to [1] for the basic theory of inverse semigroups. In an earlier paper [3] we proved the following embedding result: (1) An E-unitary inverse semigroup is isomor...

In this article, we study the Bergman property for semigroups and the associated notions of cofinality and strong cofinality. A large part of the paper is devoted to determining when the Bergman property, and the values of the cofinality and strong cofinality, can be passed from semigroups to subsemigroups and vice versa. Numerous examples, including many important semigroups from the literatur...

We study C*-algebras associated with subsemigroups of groups. For a large class of such semigroups including positive cones in quasi-lattice ordered groups and left Ore semigroups, we describe the corresponding semigroup C*algebras as C*-algebras of inverse semigroups, groupoid C*-algebras and full corners in associated group crossed products. These descriptions allow us to characterize nuclear...

In the present paper, we consider biflatness of certain classes of semigroupalgebras. Indeed, we give a necessary condition for a band semigroup algebra to bebiflat and show that this condition is not sufficient. Also, for a certain class of inversesemigroups S, we show that the biflatness of ell^{1}(S)^{primeprime} is equivalent to the biprojectivity of ell^{1}(S).
