background: micrornas (mirna) are small non-coding rnas that have a distinguished role in post- transcriptional gene expression. it’s estimated that 10-30% of human mrnas are regulated by mirnas. many mirnas profiles change during normal erythropoiesis in which some of them are stage specific.mir-155 was downregulated 200 fold in erythropoiesis. materials and methods: k562cells were grown in rp...

In this study, adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) was applied to isolate four strains of Clostridium saccharoperbutylacetonicum able grow in the presence hemicellulosic hydrolysate inhibitors unsupported by parental strain. Among them, RAC-25 presented best fermentative performance, producing 22.1 g/L ABE and 16.7 butanol. Genome sequencing revealed a deletion arabinose transcriptional repress...

its alcohol extract. In the present study, the antitumor effect of an alcohol extract was investigated using MCF7 breast cancer cells. The extract inhibited cell proliferation in a doseand time-dependent manner, which might be mediated through upregulation of p21/Waf1 and downregulation of cyclin D1. Furthermore, this compound can directly induce apoptosis in MCF-7 cells, which might be mediate...

All trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a differentiation inducer for human myeloid NB4 cells, induced accumulation of lipid droplet as determined by positivity of Nile Red and Oil Red O in this cell line. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), although not having detectable effect by itself, exerted the additive effects on lipid droplet formation in NB4 cells when combined with ATRA. mRNA anal...

G-Frames in Hilbert spaces are a redundant set of operators which yield a representation for each vector in the space. In this paper we investigate the connection between g-frames, g-orthonormal bases and g-Riesz bases. We show that a family of bounded operators is a g-Bessel sequences if and only if the Gram matrix associated to its denes a bounded operator.

Pasteurella multocida toxin (PMT), the major virulence factor responsible for zoonotic atrophic rhinitis, is a protein deamidase that activates the alpha subunit of heterotrimeric G proteins. Initial activation of G alpha-q-coupled phospholipase C-beta-1 signaling by PMT is followed by uncoupling of G alpha-q-dependent signaling, causing downregulation of downstream calcium and mitogenic signal...

BACKGROUND In celiac disease (CD), intestinal epithelium damage occurs secondary to an immune insult and is characterized by blunting of the villi and crypt hyperplasia. Similarities between Hedgehog (Hh)/BMP4 downregulation, as reported in a mouse model, and CD histopathology, suggest mechanistic involvement of Hh/BMP4/WNT pathways in proliferation and differentiation of immature epithelial ce...
