Cognitive neuroscience is growing rapidly, and new discoveries appear continuously. Understanding the basic structure of the nervous system and the fundamentals of learning through change in neuron networks can give adult educators much insight. Furthermore, a foundation of basic knowledge is essential in understanding the new and evolving research. This chapter therefore focuses on fundamentals.

We suggest a dual to an SU (2k) Susy gauge theory containing an antisymmetric tensor, n F fundamentals and n ¯ F anti-fundamentals. This is done by expanding the theory into an equivalent description with two gauge groups and then performing known duality tranformations on each gauge group separately. Chiral operators, mass perturbations and flat directions are discussed.

Radiation exposure from computed tomography (CT) examinations has long been a concern. As part of their education, CT technologists learn the fundamentals of radiation interactions, dose, risk, and protection. Modern CT systems have evolved to include dose optimization features. This article reviews the fundamentals of radiation dose and introduces new CT dose optimization techniques.
