Epstein-Barr virus-associated early antigen and viral capsid antigen were efficiently induced in human lymphoblastoid P3HR-1 cells with culture fluid of Fusobacterium nucleatum, a member of the indigenous microbial flora of the human host. This finding may suggest a new approach to assess the possible role of the "cofactor(s)" in the etiology of Epstein-Barr virus-related diseases.
Elevated liver enzymes accompanied by Infectious Mononucleosis syndrome are widely seen in primary Epstein-Barr virus infection while acute symptomatic hepatitis without typical presentations of EBV is extremely rare. In the following report, we present a patient with acute isolated hepatitis due to laboratory confirmed Epstein-Barr virus.
We extend a series of results due to Makienko, Dominguez and Sienra on the rigidity some holomorphic dynamical systems with summable critical values setting finite type maps. also recover shorter proof transversality theorem Levin. Our methods are based deformation theory introduced by Epstein.

INTRODUCTION Epstein-Barr virus exposure appears to be an environmental trigger for rheumatoid arthritis that interacts with other risk factors. Relationships among anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies, the shared epitope, and smoking status have been observed in patients with rheumatoid arthritis from different populations. OBJECTIVE To perform an association analysis of anti-Epstein...
INTRODUCTION Granulomatous lesions are commonly encountered abnormalities in pulmonary pathology, and often pose a diagnostic challenge. We report an unusual case of granulomatous lung disease with uncommon characteristics, which developed following Epstein-Barr-virus-induced mononucleosis and new-onset systemic lupus erythematosus. We aim to highlight a diagnostic approach for the condition an...
Mitotic chromosome segregation is mediated by spindle microtubules attached to centromeres. Recent studies, however, revealed that acentric DNA molecules, such as viral replicons and double minute chromosomes, can efficiently segregate into daughter cells by associating with mitotic chromosomes. Based on this similarity between viral and cellular acentric molecules, we introduced Epstein-Barr v...
In this paper, partial Epstein zeta functions on binary linear codes, which are related with Hamming weight enumerators of binary linear codes, are newly defined. Then functional equations for those zeta functions on codes are presented. In particular, it is clarified that simple functional equations hold for partial Epstein zeta functions on binary linear self-dual codes.
Epstein-Barr virus transformed human lymphocytes despite the presence of up to 500 microM acyclovir [9-(2-hydroxyethoxymethyl)guanine], a viral DNA polymerase inhibitor. The transformed cells contained multiple Epstein-Barr virus genome copy numbers. Functional viral DNA polymerase is probably not required for cell transformation and the initial amplification of the viral genome.
BACKGROUND Few reports attempt to validate the role of Epstein criteria in selecting patients for an active surveillance protocol. OBJECTIVE To determine the performance of the Epstein biopsy criteria for predicting pathologic end points and biochemical relapse-free survival (bRFS) in men with early stage prostate cancer (PCa) treated by radical prostatectomy (RP). DESIGN, SETTING, AND PART...
