The histories of autism and Asperger's Disorder (AD), based on original contributions by Kanner and Asperger, are reviewed in relation to DSM-IV diagnostic criteria. Their original articles appear to have influenced the distinction between AD and autism made in the DSM-IV. Based on up-to-date empirical research, however, it appears that AD and autism are not qualitatively distinct disorders, bu...
The aim of this research is the analysis of management ability using accounting and corporate governance criteria and also artificial intelligence. The primary independent variables in this study include regulatory variables (characteristics of corporate governance and audit committee) and accounting variables (performance and risk criteria). We took advantage of Demirjian index to measure mana...
For the problem of variable selection in generalized linear models, we develop various adaptive Bayesian criteria. Using a hierarchical mixture setup for model uncertainty, combined with an integrated Laplace approximation, we derive Empirical Bayes and Fully Bayes criteria that can be computed easily and quickly. The performance of these criteria is assessed via simulation and compared to othe...
Effectiveness of testing criteria is the ability to detect failure in a software program. We consider not only effectiveness of some testing criterion in itself but a variance of effectiveness of different test sets satisfied the same testing criterion. We name this property "tolerance" of a testing criterion and show that, for practical using a criterion, a high tolerance is as well important ...
This paper investigates the need for complementing automated verification of business process models with a validity analysis performed by human analysts. As business processes become increasingly automated through process aware information systems, the quality of process design becomes crucial. Although verification of process models has gained much attention, their validation, relating to the...
Distributional dominance criteria are commonly applied to draw welfare inferences about comparisons, but conclusions drawn from empirical implementations of dominance criteria may be inßuenced by data contamination. We examine a non-parametric approach to reÞning Lorenz-type comparisons and apply the technique to two important examples from the LIS data-base. ¤
This article describes a knowledge management (KM) success model that is derived from observations generated through an empirical study of KM in an Iranian consultant company and KM success factors in the literature which is shown that company has a weak situation in each factor. So company needs a measurement model in order to assess knowledge management implementation processes in each step t...
The selection of the truncation lag for covariate unit root tests is analyzed using Monte Carlo simulation. It is shown that standard information criteria such as the BIC or the AIC can result in tests with large size distortions. Modified information criteria can be used to construct tests with good size and power. An empirical illustration is provided.
One of the challenges in comparing learning performance across multiple conditions is to develop an appropriate evaluation. We identify four candidate metrics and apply them in an empirical example, providing contrast to differences between the metrics. We propose a set of criteria that learning comparison metrics should satisfy, evaluate the four metrics using the identified criteria, and conc...
Context: The internal composition of a work team is an important antecedent of team performance and the criteria used to select team members play an important role in determining team composition. However, there are only a handful of empirical studies about the use of team building criteria in the software
