Cumulative lifetime (five lamb crops) lamb production and wool production of 681 ewes were evaluated in this study. Lamb production and wool production from each ewe at the end of age 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 yr were added to the previous year's production and analyzed within age of ewe. If a ewe failed to lamb, died, or was culled, it received a zero for that year and subsequent years. Main effects i...

Our objective was to apply ideas from complexity theory to derive neurophysiologic models of Submarine Piloting and Navigation showing how teams cognitively organize around changes in the task and how this organization is altered with experience. The cognitive metric highlighted was an electroencephalography (EEG)derived measure of engagement (termed NS_E) which was modeled into a collective R....

Time reversal active sensing using Lamb waves is investigated for health monitoring of a composite structure. In the present work experiments were conducted on a glass/epoxy composite plates to study the time reversal behavior of A0 and S0 Lamb wave modes. PZT wafer sensors were surface bonded to the structure for generation and reception of the Lamb wave modes. Time reversal experiments were f...

The maximal acceleration corrections to the Lamb shift of one– electron atoms are calculated starting from the Dirac equation and splitting the spinor into large and small components. The results depend on Z8 and a cut-off Λ. Sizeable values are obtained even at Z = 1 for Λ ∼ a0/2, where a0 is the Bohr radius. These values are compatible with theoretical and experimental results. Four outer membrane proteins of Escherichia coli were examined for their capabilities and limitations in displaying heterologous peptide inserts on the bacterial cell surface. The T7 tag or multiple copies of the myc epitope were inserted into loops 4 and 5 of the ferrichrome and phage T5 receptor FhuA. Fluorescence-activated cell sorting analysis showed that peptides of up to 250 amino acids w...

The mathematical and physical properties of the Lamb vector divergence are explored. Toward this aim, the instantaneous and mean dynamics of the Lamb vector divergence are examined in several analytic and turbulent flow examples relative to its capacity to identify and characterize spatially localized motions having a distinct capacity to effect a time rate of change of momentum. In this contex...

Hemimelia as a congenital anomaly is a failure of development of extremities formation in embryonic period. This anomaly is defined as complete absence of the part of extremities and different forms were explained for hemimelia. Adactyly is an alternative name for transverse hemimelia and is a rare disorder in the most of animal species. A two months old male lamb with normal vital signs was re...
