In this paper we review the work related to amorphization under mechanical stress. Beyond pressure, highlight role of deviatoric or shear stresses. We show that most recent works make appear as a deformation mechanism in its own right, particular extreme conditions (shocks, deformations high stresses, strain-rates).

We analyse deformation mechanism in neutron-rich Cr, Fe and Ti isotopes with N=3244 by means of a Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean-field code employing a twodimensional mesh representation in the cylindrical coordinate system.
