Decomposition of organic tissue is a complex process that affected by large number interactions. These variables affect the rate decomposition, insect activity, and onset each individual stage in decomposition process. Of effect, some most commonly studied are temperature moisture. The purpose this study to analyze impact other variables, such as age at death, body size, sun exposure, presence ...

In this paper, we consider anitropic singular perturbations of some elliptic boundary value problems. We study the asymptotic behavior as ε → 0 for the solution. Strong convergence in some Sobolev spaces is proved and the rate of convergence in cylindrical domains is given.

Oxaloacetic acid is known to decompose in aqueous solution into pyruvic acid and CO2. AtpH 4 and 200 the rate of the 'ketone decomposition' varies between 6 and 18% per hr. The fact that this 'spontaneous' decomposition shows considerable variations suggests that trace impurities might affect the stability of oxaloacetic acid. Krampitz & Werkman [1941] recently reported that Mg ions accelerate ...

Community functioning may be affected by functional diversity, which measures the extent of complementarity in resource use. We tested whether there was a relationship between functional diversity of woody species and community functioning on a fine scale, using FD as a measure of functional diversity and litter decomposition rate as a surrogate for community functioning. We measured eight func...

The loss of species is known to have significant effects on ecosystem functioning, but only recently has it been recognized that species loss might rival the effects of other forms of environmental change on ecosystem processes. There is a need for experimental studies that explicitly manipulate species richness and environmental factors concurrently to determine their relative impacts on key e...

Plant genetic variation and herbivores can both influence ecosystem functioning by affecting the quantity and quality of leaf litter. Few studies have, however, investigated the effects of herbivore load on litter decomposition at plant genotype level. We reduced insect herbivory using an insecticide on one half of field-grown Betula Pendula saplings of 17 genotypes, representing random intrapo...

Componentand normwise perturbation bounds for the block LU factorization and block LDL∗ factorization of Hermitian matrices are presented. We also obtain, as a consequence, perturbation bounds for the usual pointwise LU, LDL∗, and Cholesky factorizations. Some of these latter bounds are already known, but others improve previous results. All the bounds presented are easily proved by using serie...

Study on the effects of sonolysis, ozonolysis and US/O3 system on the decomposition of p-chlorophenol in aqueous solutions indicated that in the cases of US/O3 system, individual ozonolysis and sonolysis, the decomposition rate of p-chlorophenol reached 78.78%, 56.20%, 2.79% after a 16-min reaction while its CODcr (chemical oxygen demand) removal rate was 97.02%, 62.17%, 3.67% after a 120-min r...
