In this paper we study the one-loop shift in the coupling constant in a noncommutative pureU(N) Chern-Simons gauge theory in three dimensions. The one-loop shift is shown to be a constant proportional to N , independent of noncommutativity parameters, and non-vanishing for U(1) theory. Possible physical and mathematical implications of this result are discussed.
We consider the following coupled elliptic system : −∆u = μ1u N+2 N−2 + βu 2 N−2 v N N−2 in R −∆v = μ2v N+2 N−2 + βv 2 N−2u N N−2 in R u, v > 0, u, v ∈ D(R ), (S) where N = 3, 4, μ1, μ2 are two positive constants and β < 0 is the coupling constant. We prove the existence of infinitely many positive nonradial solutions.
A traversable wormhole solution of general scalar–tensor field equations is presented. We have shown, after a numerical analysis for the behavior of the scalar field of Brans-Dicke theory, that the solution is completely singularity– free. Furthermore, the analysis of more general scalar field dependent coupling constants indicates that the gravitational memory phenomenon may play an important ...
The solitons of the SO(3) gauged Skyrme model with no pion-mass potential were studied in Refs. [1, 2]. Here, the effects of the inclusion of this potential are studied. In contrast with the (ungauged) Skyrme model, where the effect of this potential on the solitons is marginal, here it turns out to be decisive, resulting in very different dependence of the energy as a function of the Skyrme co...
It is shown that a nite system of coupled mixing tent maps has a unique absolutely continuous invariant measure and is exact with respect to this measure provided the coupling strength does not exceed a certain value uni which is independent of the size of the system.
At the classical level we study open bosonic strings. A generic description of string self–interactions localized at string ends is given. Self–interactions are characterized by two dimensionless coupling constants. The model is rewritten using complex Liouville fields. Using these Lorentz and reparametrization invariant variables, equations of motion get greatly simplified and reduce to some b...
The coupling constants g ρηγ and g ωηγ are calculated using QCD sum rules method by studying the three point ρηγ and ωηγ correlation functions. A comparison of the results with the values of the coupling constants that are deduced from the experimentally measured decay widths of ρ → ηγ and ω → ηγ decays is performed.
We argue that in the two–loop approximation gauge coupling unification in the exceptional supersymmetric standard model (E6SSM) can be achieved for any phenomenologically reasonable value of α3(MZ) consistent with the experimentally measured central value.
The direct constraint on the parameters of short range pseudomagnetic interaction of free neutron with matter is obtained from the recent test experiment on a search for neutron EDM by crystal-diffraction method [1]. It is shown that this constraint on a product of scalar to pseudo-scalar coupling constants gsgp is better than that of any other method for the range λ < 10cm.
We derived and solved the compositeness condition in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model at the next-to-leading order in 1/N , and obtained the expressions for the effective coupling constants in terms of the compositeness scale. In the NJL model with a scalar composite, the next to leading contributions are too large for N = 3. In the induced gauge theory with abelian gauge symmetry, the correction t...
