It has previously been shown that the PAN promoter from Mycobacterium paratuberculosis can be used as a DNA probe to identify an RFLP between wild-type Mycobacterium bovis and the vaccine strain Mycobacterium bovis BCG. To investigate the genetic basis of this phenomenon, DNA fragments from a New Zealand M. bovis cattle strain and M. bovis BCG Pasteur, containing the PAN-binding region, were is...

hemoglobin level, hematocrit, platelet count, and results of blood sis, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Corynebacterium haemolyticum, Corynebacterium kutscheri, Corynebacterium group D2, and two nonchemistry and urinalysis were all within normal limits, and cultures of blood were negative. speciated corynebacteria. With the exception of the most resistant strains, C. jeikeium and Empiric antimicrobia...

The genus Corynebacterium includes Gram-positive species with a high G+C content. We report here a novel species, Corynebacterium kefirresidentii SB, isolated from kefir grains collected in Germany. Its draft genome sequence was remarkably dissimilar (average nucleotide identity, 76.54%) to those of other Corynebacterium spp., confirming that this is a unique novel species.

Bovine mastitis, caused by Prototheca bovis, has received much attention worldwide. To investigate the status of P. bovis infection in dairy farms Hubei, we collected 1,158 milk samples and 90 environmental from 14 China. The isolates were identified with traditional biological methods molecular techniques, their pathogenicity was tested through mice experiments. Isolates 57 20 as bovis. tests ...

45 46 Identification and characterization of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains is important for 47 clinical and therapeutic management of tuberculosis. Real time PCR with high-resolution melt 48 assay were found to improve the diagnostic process. The assay includes differentiation between 49 M. tuberculosis and M. bovis based on one SNP in the narGHJI and oxyR genes, and 50 determination o...

Corynebacterium species are increasingly recognized as important pathogens in granulomatous mastitis. Currently, there are no published treatment protocols for Corynebacterium breast infections. This study describes antimicrobial treatment options in the context of other management strategies used for granulomatous mastitis. Corynebacterium spp. isolated from breast tissue and aspirate samples ...

Nonlipophilic corynebacteria associated with clinical and subclinical mastitis in dairy cows were found to belong to four species: Corynebacterium amycolatum, Corynebacterium ulcerans, Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, and Corynebacterium minutissimum. These species may easily be confused. However, clear-cut differences between C. ulcerans and C. pseudotuberculosis were found in their acid pr...

The complete genome of Corynebacterium mustelae DSM 45274 comprises 3,474,226 bp and 3,188 genes. Prominent niche and virulence factors are SpaBCA- and SpaDEF-type pili with similarity to pilus proteins of Corynebacterium resistens and Corynebacterium urealyticum and an immunomodulatory EndoS-like endoglycosidase probably catalyzing the removal of distinct glycans from IgG antibodies.

Corynebacterium terpenotabidum Takeuchi et. al 1999 is a member of the genus Corynebacterium, which contains Gram-positive and non-spore forming bacteria with a high G+C content. C. terpenotabidum was isolated from soil based on its ability to degrade squalene and belongs to the aerobic and non-hemolytic Corynebacteria. It displays tolerance to salts (up to 8%) and is related to Corynebacterium...

OBJECTIVES Corynebacterium spp. are becoming recognized as pathogens that potentially cause various infections. We aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics associated with Corynebacterium spp. bacteremia. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of all adult patients who had positive blood cultures for Corynebacterium spp. in a single university hospital betw...
