We report a high-performance amorphous Indium-Gallium-Zinc-Oxide (a-IGZO) thin-film transistor (TFT) with new copper-chromium (Cu-Cr) alloy source/drain electrodes. The TFT shows a high mobility of 39.4 cm 2 ·V - 1 ·s - 1 a turn-on voltage of -0.8 V and a low subthreshold swing of 0.47 V/decade. Cu diffusion is suppressed because pre-annealing can protect a-IGZO from damage during the electrode...

PURPOSE This study aimed to develop a copper-aluminium-nickel alloy which has properties comparable to that of dental alloys used for dental post and core applications with the reasonable cost. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixteen groups of experimental copper alloys with variants of 3, 6, 9, 12 wt% Al and 0, 2, 4, 6 wt% Ni were prepared and casted. Their properties were tested and evaluated. The da...

A method for measuring the real-time corrosion rates for Alloy 718, stainless steels (SS) 304L and 316L nuclear grade (NG), aluminum alloys 5052 (Al5052) and 6061 (Al6061), copper (Cu), tantalum (Ta), and tungsten (W) in two separate water systems that were irradiated by 800 MeV protons is presented. The ®rst water system was fabricated entirely of 304 SS, thoroughly cleaned before operation, a...

Several different joint assemblies were evaluated in support of a manufacturing technology for diffusion bonding a beryllium armor tile to a copper alloy heat sink for fusion reactor applications. Because beryllium reacts with all but a few elements to form intermetallic compounds, this study considered several different surface treatments as a means of both inhibiting these reactions and promo...

In this study the eff ect of the cooling rate on the microstructure of Al94Mn2Be2Cu2 alloy was investigated. The vacuum induction melted and cast alloy was exposed to diff erent cooling rates. The slowest cooling rate was achieved by the DSC (10 K·min−1), the moderate cooling rate succeeded by casting in the copper mould (≈1 000 K·s−1) and the rapid solidifi cation was performed by melt spinnin...

We report on the solidification of Au49, Ag5.5, Pd2.3, Cu26.9, Si16.3 bulk metallic glass under various strain rates. Using a copper mold casting technique with a low strain rate during solidification, this alloy is capable of forming glassy rods of at least 5 mm in diameter. Surprisingly, when the liquid alloy is splat cooled at much higher cooling rates and large strain rates, the solidified ...

The synergetic effect of alloy and morphology of nanocatalysts play critical roles towards ethanol electrooxidation. In this work, we developed a novel electrocatalyst fabricated by one-pot synthesis of hierarchical flower-like palladium (Pd)-copper (Cu) alloy nanocatalysts supported on reduced graphene oxide (Pd-Cu(F)/RGO) for direct ethanol fuel cells. The structures of the catalysts were cha...

Powder metallurgy has been used for the manufacture of fully dense, which have not reacted composites consisting of a matrix of copper containing 50 -60 vol% particles with negative thermal ZrW2O8 expansion. On cycling between 25 and 300°C, the compounds showed coefficients thermal expansion which varies rapidly with temperature and significantly larger than expected by theory. Improvements in ...

PURPOSE Skin exposure to soluble beryllium compounds causes systemic sensitization in humans. Penetration of poorly soluble particles through intact skin has been proposed as a mechanism for beryllium sensitization; however, this mechanism is controversial. The purpose of this study was to investigate the hypothesis that particulate beryllium compounds in contact with skin surface release ions ...
