The case of sources that generate multidimensional signals, filling a subspace of dimensionality K, is considered. Different coordinate axes of the subspace (“subspace channels”) correspond to different signal portions generated by each source, e.g., data from different spectral bands or different modalities may be assigned to different subspace channels. The mixing system that generates observ...

We construct a closed infinite-dimensional subspace of LO(O, 1) (or Lp for 0 < p < 1) which is rigid, i.e. such that every endomorphism in the space is a multiple of the identity.
In this paper, we represent an inexact inverse subspace iteration method for computing a few eigenpairs of the generalized eigenvalue problem Ax = Bx [Q. Ye and P. Zhang, Inexact inverse subspace iteration for generalized eigenvalue problems, Linear Algebra and its Application, 434 (2011) 1697-1715 ]. In particular, the linear convergence property of the inverse subspace iteration is preserved.
It is shown that the family of all homogeneous continua in hyperspace subcontinua any finite-dimensional Euclidean cube or Hilbert an analytic subspace which contains a topological copy linear space c0={(xk)∈Rω:limxk=0} as closed subset.
We are interested in the following problem: to describe the closed translation-invariant subspaces of lp(Z). For l2 there is a complete solution due to Wiener, in terms of zeros of Fourier transform. However, the situation when p 6= 2 is much harder. In this talk we will present a proof of Malliavin’s theorem which shows the difficulty of characterizing all invariant subspaces of l1. We will us...
Let $H$ and $K$ be compact subgroups of locally compact group $G$. By considering the double coset space $Ksetminus G/H$, which equipped with an $N$-strongly quasi invariant measure $mu$, for $1leq pleq +infty$, we make a norm decreasing linear map from $L^p(G)$ onto $L^p(Ksetminus G/H,mu)$ and demonstrate that it may be identified with a quotient space of $L^p(G)$. In addition, we illustrate t...
In this paper we investigate the role of the predictor in subspace identification. We shall see that it is the key object which allows to construct realization procedures which ideally work regardless of the presence of feedback. We discuss this point in some detail.
It seems fair to say that current state-of-the-art subspace identification methods provide reliable results only when applied to plants operating in open loop. However feedback is present in a variety of practical situations (even though often one cannot directly recognize physical controllers which “close the loop”) and there is a need of reliable identification methods and algorithms which co...
This paper deals with certain properties of the subspaces of LC(H) and C and namely those connected with the reflexivity and with the property of containing classical spaces. It is proved that any subspace of C (1 < p < oo) is either isomorphic to Hilbert space or it contains a subspace isomorphic to I . For Cj and LC'H) the same results were obtained by J. R. Holub, cf. [4]. Introduction. Let ...
