A 66-year-old woman received a pacemaker implantation because of syncope with documented sinus arrest and junctional bradycardia. Three weeks later the analysis revealed episodes nonsustained ventricular tachycardia. Coronary angiography invasive coronary assessment showed diffuse moderate stenosis but no significant ischemia. months she experienced new runs tachycardia at time syncope. The com...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to assess whether delayed enhancement (DE) on MRI is associated with ventricular tachycardia (VT)/ventricular fibrillation or death in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis and left ventricular ejection fraction >35%. METHODS AND RESULTS Fifty-one patients with cardiac sarcoidosis and left ventricular ejection fraction >35% underwent DE-MRI. DE was assesse...
Accurate assessment of pulmonary and extrapulmonary organ involvement in sarcoidosis is one of the great challenges for clinicians. This assessment includes the evaluation of symptoms and of sarcoidosis activity in a specific organ and its functional consequences. In this review, radiological and nuclear techniques to image the inflammatory activity of sarcoidosis are described, in particular F...
Majority of ventricular tachycardias (VTs) are caused by scar-related macroreentry in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. These VTs usually exhibit the reentry circuit on electroanatomic maps. We here describe a rare case of VT that exhibits a focal activation pattern on the electroanatomic map despite reentrant VT.

UNLABELLED Cardiac sarcoidosis is a potentially fatal complication of sarcoidosis. The 1993 guidelines of the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan have been used as the diagnostic gold standard and for comparison with imaging modalities. (18)F-FDG PET is not currently included in the guidelines. However, studies have shown promising data using (18)F-FDG PET. We conducted a sy...
AIMS Sarcoidosis is a multisystem, granulomatous disease with occasional cardiac manifestations. The clinical course of patients with ventricular tachyarrhythmias as a primary presentation of sarcoidosis is mostly unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS We describe nine patients (four males and five females) in whom sarcoidosis manifested as ventricular tachycardia (VT). The age of the patients was 53 +...
BACKGROUND Individuals with cardiac sarcoidosis have an increased risk of ventricular arrhythmia and death. Several small cohort studies have evaluated the ability of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to predict adverse cardiovascular events. However, studies have yielded inconsistent results, and some analyses were underpowered. Therefore, we sought ...
