In this paper the faults diagnosis of induction machines based on the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is detailed. The wavelet decomposition is used to extract the information from a signal over a wide range of frequencies. This analysis is performed in both time and frequency domains. The Daubechies wavelet is selected for the analysis of the stator current. Wavelet components appear to be us...

Knowledge of the distinctive frequencies and amplitudes broken rotor bar (BRB) faults in induction motor (IM) is essential for most fault diagnosis methods. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) widely applied to diagnose within BRBs. However, this method does not provide satisfactory results if it directly stator current signal at low slip because a high-resolution spectrum required separate different ...

This paper presents a physical model of a squirrel cage induction machine with rotor topology. The machine is modeled in Modelica, an object oriented multi physical modeling system. The presented machine model is used to investigate electrical rotor asymmetries in induction machines. For the case of a single broken rotor bar a simulation model is compared with measurement results.

Induction motors are becoming crucial components in numerous industries. The daily usage of induction creates the demand for proper maintenance and slight fault detection to avoid serious damage motor shutdown Among various kinds faults motors, bearing failures, broken rotor bar short-circuit insulation failures most common. Thus, classification these attracting great attention. There conventio...

This is a draft of a chapter for a book, Modification, in preparation for the Cambridge University Press series Key Topics in Semantics and Pragmatics. The full manuscript is also available as a single document on my website, as are some additional chapters. The book is something between a textbook for people who already have a basic background in semantics and a survey of work in the area. For...

In this paper, we develop a new method for Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR) fault detection. Specifically, we develop kinematic and dynamic models of the WMR in the presence of faults such as a change in the wheel radius (e.g., deformation, broken spoke, flat tire) or general kinematic disturbances that model slipping or skidding faults. Utilizing the WMR models, we employ a torque filtering techniqu...
