The same day at 5 pm, he became drowsy but arousable only on painful stimuli with severe generalized hypertonia and bilateral upgoing plantars. He was reventilated and a provisional diagnosis of cerebrovascular accident was made. CT scan of brain was normal except for bilateral basa...

Introduction: Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) is an important otological emergency. Up to 90% of the cases are idiopathic. Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is an extremely rare identifiable cause as it only represents 0.5% of all strokes.   Case Report: In this paper, an unusual case of bilateral SSNHL secondary to bilateral CVT with rapid and complete recovery is reported. The patie...

In this paper several interfaces for teleoperation of a mobile robot are described and analyzed. We consider teleoperation of a wheeled mobile robot when control commands are given by human operator through a haptic master device. Described human-robot teleoperation interfaces were tested by performing experiments. Main objective was to verify the role of different types of feedback information...

For many species of primates, arguably including humans, social behaviour can be characterised along an axis usually described as running from egalitarian to despotic. Despotic societies are characterised by a strict hierarchy with very few aggressive interactions, but where aggression occurs it is typically violent and usually unilateral from dominant to subordinate. Egalitarian societies have...

The complexity of automated negotiation in a multiissue, incomplete-information and continuous-time environment poses severe challenges, and in recent years many strategies have been proposed in response to this challenge. For the traditional evolution, strategies are studied in games assuming that “globally” negotiates with all other participates. This evaluation, however, is not suited for ne...

How do people consider other minds during cooperation versus competition? Some accounts predict that theory of mind (ToM) is recruited more for cooperation versus competition or competition versus cooperation, whereas other accounts predict similar recruitment across these two contexts. The present fMRI study examined activity in brain regions for ToM (bilateral temporoparietal junction, precun...

Motor control is accompanied by activity in specialized areas with a continuous adjustment of the flow of information. We studied interactions between hemispheres during the learning of a bimanual polyrhythmic movements during which the left and right fingers moved at a fixed frequency ratio. In the course of learning performance improved as revealed by an increased frequency locking. The impro...

Testicular lobulation is a rare congenital anomaly of the testicle. Scrotal ultrasound as a primary diagnostic modality of testicular abnormalities is very helpful in the diagnosis of testicular lobulation. We are reporting in bilateral testicular lobulation associated with varicocele and primary infertility. The m=lobulation was discovered accidentally during routine scrotal ultrasound.

Bilateral symmetry is an extremely salient feature for the human visual system. An interesting issue is whether the perceptual salience of symmetry is rooted in normal visual development. In this review, we discuss empirical work on visual and tactile symmetry detection in normally sighted and visually impaired individuals. On the one hand, available evidence suggests that efficient visual symm...

In this paper we present a framework for describing a series of pattern variants encountered in the context of Service Interaction. The original Service Interaction Patterns [9] only covered 13 interactions scenarios. Moreover, some important aspects of service interaction of a bilateral and multilateral nature are not addressed in [9]. Furthermore, these patterns allow for ambiguous interpreta...
